I found an article put out by the Seventh-day Adventist Church titled “Drama of the Disappearing Dinosaurs”…
…It can be found on page 44 of the following official SDA link.

docs.adventistarchives.org/docs/MIN/MIN19780401-V51-04__B/index.djvu?djvuopts&page=47

The article states that evil men did “sexual stuff” with animals which created giant races of humanoids…
…As well as a class of animal life “God did not create”.
…Brachiosaurus and other Sauropod’s are listed as examples.

The article quotes Ellen W. White ( the SDA prophetess ) who states.

“Therefore, because of confusion caused by amalgamation, and the inability of enfeebled humans to cope with these giant animals, Providence closed one of the most memorable chapters in the history of vertebrate life on this earth”. Ellen White

I’m not done looking by any means and did find what you said mentioned by several SDA’s…
…But those were from news-groups and topix threads.
…It wouldn’t shock me at all if I find a teaching that says Satan put the fossils there to test faith LOL!

I have some Baptist Fundamentalist family who claim;

God made the earth to look old, and the fossils to look old so that we can enjoy the majesty of his 5000 year old creation…

Like he made a set for a play or something… “I’ll dig a canyon here and place an ancient volcano here, and dust it with strange large bones”

It’s kind of strange and along the same lines as the SDA I think.

Interesting - I’ve often wondered how people can hear a teaching like that and how it passes the sniff test…

Chero, is she a vegetarian? Does she eat fish? Curious I am. Have you discussed 1 Timothy 4 below regarding the abstinence from foods? Verse 4 is pretty clear too…

4 Now the Spirit expressly says that in later times some will depart from the faith by giving heed to deceitful spirits and doctrines of demons, 2 through the pretensions of liars whose consciences are seared, 3 who forbid marriage[a] and enjoin abstinence from foods** which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth. 4 For everything created by God is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving; 5 for then it is consecrated by the word of God and prayer.

PnP**

No she’s not a vegetarian. But at the beginning of our relationship, man if I ever ate pork or shrimp in front of her in front of her family, Good Lord, its like they just the devil. She would say that it was wrong and how in the Bible it was against eating it. I started to investigate and showed her some verses were the bans of food was not in effect for the NT. She responded by saying well that’s just a belief of my church. I told her but you told me that you didn’t do it bc the Bible said no, but now you do it bc its your church tradition. She wasn’t too happy and started to side step the issue.

I think I remember something about their prophet being authorized to eat some things the general membership couldn’t eat…
…Chicken or some type of seafood if I’m remembering correctly.

I remember I cornered her on this subject by telling her. You really think that God is going to judge and condemn you or send you to heaven whether you ate pork and shrimp. God wants to look at the same picture not what you had 2 weeks ago for lunch. Of course she didn’t have an answer

So no seafood even though St. Peter was a fisherman? What she say about that?

That’s a great point, I knew that he was a fisherman but never put 1 and 1 together, but thanks for the heads up. I think she said they only eat fish that has scales, but don’t quote me on that.

OK, I see that they are reading Leviticus 11

9 “These you may eat, of all that are in the waters. Everything in the waters that has fins and scales, whether in the seas or in the rivers, you may eat. 10 But anything in the seas or the rivers that has not fins and scales, of the swarming creatures in the waters and of the living creatures that are in the waters, is an abomination to you. 11 They shall remain an abomination to you; of their flesh you shall not eat, and their carcasses you shall have in abomination. 12 Everything in the waters that has not fins and scales is an abomination to you.

I love Coconut Shrimp and Shrimp Creole.

Unfortunately they don’t read and put the whole bible together. They don’t see that we as Christians are under new laws. But unfortunately that’s what ppl do with the Bible and make beliefs with just several verses instead of doing what the Catholic Church does and put the whole Bible together

I would vote for the SDA being the most anti Catholic denomination out there given my conversations with some of them.
Mary.
Any church that has its own made up doctrine is anti catholic. Or any church that feels like the church that Christ started is wrong in its teachings is anti catholic. Just my own opinion.
