Unfortunately, these so-called idiots are out there in huge quanities.:bigyikes:
Recently my Mormon girlfriend and I were doing some reading together off the internet and found a site that estimated that there are about 14 million Seventh Day Adventists in the world today. This surprised her because it also estimates Mormons at about 12million; evidently she was under the impression that there are billions and billions of Mormons. I’ve had a few conversations with Mormons where numbers of members came up; Mormons seem to think that the entire world is converting over to them. Anyways, yes, there are a lot of anti-Catholics, but they tend not to agree with one another on very many things, and are competing with each other for precious converts. They will make inroads here and there, but an awful lot of their converts eventually make their way back home to our beloved Church.

If someone has an anti catholic site or merely holds anti catholic thoughts is not something for us to concern ourselves with. sure, its tempting to get worked up about it. But just look at the poor research and lack of attempt to use reason at even a nominal level. It really wont convince someone who uses critical thinking or has a modicum of intelligence to believe the statements being declared here as credible. The Catholic faith keeps chugging along in spite of all her critics. In fact, at times grows stronger because of them. We are really blessed each time some nut who may be suffering from some mental defects lashes out this way. Its bad advertising for the faith of the idividual in question. Anyone who finds this remotely interesting is clearly avoiding the use of their God given brain.

Well said 👍

This is kind of off topic, but I wanted to share it.

My grandmother was very anti-Catholic, and she probably would have agreed with everything on that website. She and her mother-in-law (my great grandmother) used to discuss which was the bigger threat, the Catholics or the Communists. They decided that the Catholics were worse. She even thought her infant twins (who were born prematurely) died because a Catholic woman gave them a bath! I just shook my head and laughed when I heard that. I’ve heard some crazy and irrational things in my life, but that certainly takes the cake.

I always thought my parents were somewhat anti-Catholic, but they recently commented that the Catholics are some of their greatest allies. They said that you are good people and did a lot of great things through your pro-life efforts. They genuinely admire you. I was happy to hear them say that, and it seems that some of the old prejudices and stereotypes are fading away, at least within my family. 🙂

This site was one of the most ridiculous I’ve seen. And you don’t even find out it’s SDA until you get almost to the bottom. Then, near the bottom, they pretty much lump all Protestants in with the Catholics they hate so much! Sad that people actually buy into the SDA cult.

Sites like that pain me.

Not only do they do nothing but spout lies, they also interpret the Bible in some very bizzar ways.

Even when I was more Non-denom then Catholic I never paid people like that any mind.

My priest once spoke about the number 666.

6 is imperfection any number 3 times is eternal so 666 means nothing more then imperfection for eternity, which is why Gods number is 777 or perfection for eternity.

Our Church was meant to be ridiculed as the people did to our pioneer, the Saviour, back then…

May I just quote St. Luke:
Blessed are you when people hate you,
and when they exclude and insult you,
and **denounce your name as evil **on account of the Son of Man.
Rejoice and leap for joy on that day!
Behold, your reward will be great in heaven.
For their ancestores treated the prophets in the same way.

Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.

Delving into the Greek and the choice of words used. The Hyperliteralist has it all wrong. They believe it is the number of a specific person but looking at the word used for man:

anthrōpos
anth’-ro-pos
From G435 and ὤψ ōps (the countenance; from G3700); manfaced, that is, a human being: - certain, man.

in lieu of another word used for man:

anēr
an’-ayr
A primary word (compare G444); a man (properly as an individual male): - fellow, husband, man, sir

666 is the number of Mankind

or

666 is the number of the human race

So what does that mean?

does it refer to a population count of some sort? Such as 6.66 Billion?

If you think that site is bad, read this one:

666man.net/265popes.html

This one claims Pope Benedict will change his name.
Wow take about historical errors… It’s amazing why so many Protestants who have deep seated Anti-Catholic feeling and desire spread lies.

It is said that Satan is the Prince of Liars. I wonder if Satan has enter their hearts.

In Peter’s Epistles, he often refer to Rome as Babylon. It was common among the Apostles to call Rome Babylon.

That site has a lot of loose claims and logic on that one. As to Benedict changing his name :whacky:, whachy reasoning isn’t it? 😉
He could change his name to apease the Muslims? I doubt it. I contacted the owner of the website last year and asked him what will happen if Benny dies before a name change? He said he would shut down the website.

I am glad to hear that.

It is good that they can see the good that Catholic christians do.

But I wonder if they would believe many of the lies told about what the Church teaches, and probably sadly shake their head at Catholics being so misguided?

Ah well, one step at a time.

God bless,
Maria

Really? He’d shut it down? Sweet. Better get started man, cuz’ it won’t be happenin’!😃

Bad manipulators…:tsktsk:

Martin Luther’s full name adds up to 666 - he started the revolt that will lead to the worship of Antichrist.
A very good observation! I always feel suspicious of the World Council of Churches because its mainline Protestants only confess the Nicene Creed with their lips, not with their hearts. Also, most clergy and laity in WCC associated churches reject Trinity and inerrancy of the Bible and Tradition.
They will also reject the Catholic Doctrine of the Eucharist - 666 (John 6:66! Those who rejected Christ’s teaching left Him just as the Reformers left the Church!) - 666 = the number of the beast- 666 = rejection of the Eucharist - abolition of the Holy Mass by
Luther and the Protestant Reformers.
I suggest you do not call them “Reformers” as there are more suitable words for those churches associated with the World Council of Churches, such as rebels or renegades. The WCC has refused to ex-communicate the Anglikan Church for ordaining an openly gay Bishop and blessing his “marriage” to another open gay man. This immoral act condemns every church in this Marxist-leaning body, including those Orthodox churches, who are really ethnic clubs

Yeah, and they also say that Baptism, the sacrament of Penance and Confirmation are not necessary. Remember, to Protestants, sacraments are only symbols. They also reject the doctrine of Papal Infallibility. Hence the spirit of antichrist is already out there.

They are not considered symbolic by many Protestants.

In fact, many of your new “bible” churches believe in the Real Presence of Christ because it is “plainly” in the Bible.

As well as the sacramental Protestants.

So they can bite on those private interpretations and speculations for a while:)
did you also know that from the end of the Roman Empire to the Birth of Martin Luther is 1007 years? A thousand year reign of Christ before a Great Tribulation immediately after the fall of Rome.

One day I was on this other video game forum when the subject of Sin and Forgiveness came up. Some guy started saying that being a Catholic was being evil, and I ended up getting into an argument with him. I told him to actually do some research on the subject before saying anything, when he told me to do research on my own religion and gave me this site (all of his infomation came from this site):

The website in question

I can’t believe the author of this website! He is so biased and twists the bible, calling Catholics Satanists and Antichrists! This is very long, but you can just read some and see how it’s attacking us and the Pope with such lies! Those pictures they had with an upsidedown cross were probably photoshoped (and it wouldn’t be so hard to do that) and the pictures of the young priests laying on the floor was definitly not of them worshipping Pope John Paul. They were probably being ordained! Why lie so much??? I felt like I was arguing with Satan that night, him trying to get me farther away from God… Scary…

Inverted crossbehind JPII, I too have seen it. It is portrayed as somthing sinister. The Holy Spirit has not allowed mockers to enjoy the meaning of this symbol. It is as stated above, that of St Peter.

Priests lying on the floor [prostrated] in total submission to the Saviour Jesus Christ.

Their insults are distressing. It affects one deeply, I know, I too have been affected by it.That is part of suffering for being a TRUE Christian.

Definition of 'anti-christ is 'one who denies that Christ is the Son of God. The catholic church is very strong in teaching and professing Christ as God.

Have you considered that the devil is the arch-deceiver. Would not the devil call the ‘true church of Christ’ the ‘anti-christ’ in order to deceive people into falling away? Could this not be a grand conspiracy by evil to lead those who belong to the REAL church astray?

These people are either sinister themselves or they are very sick.

Their chief grievance against us is that the catholic church is accused of changing the sabbath from Saturday to Sunday. They fail to realise that Saturday was the sabbath of the Old Covenant. Christ empowered the church to ‘make changes’ of the authority to change the day of the sabbath ‘what you allow on earth shall be allowed in heaven’, Matthew ch16 v 19

The Blessed Apostles themselves met in the Lords name, on Sundays: 'late that sunday evening when they met, the Lord came and stood among them Jn 20: 19. Would the Lord have visited them on Sunday if He did not condone the changing of the sabbath?

He also promised to be with His church until the end of time, suggesting ‘no room for the anti-christ’ ‘lo, I am with you always, even to the end of time’ Mat ch28 v 20.

They mock our belief in the Real Presence. But it was the great St Paul who told believers to make sure they did not receive the Sacred Meal unworthily 'anyone who eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord unworthily will be guilty of desecrating the body and blood of the Lord Paul 1 Corinthians ch11 v 27-28.

Now would it be so serious if it was mere bread and wine? I do not think so!! St Paul obviously believes in the real presence and he was an apostle of the Lord!!

It is no good arguing with these people. The Lord said Himself ‘they have eyes but they do not see, ears but they do not hear’. They are blind and deaf through their own chosing. You will not convince them. All we can do it pray for them.

It is doubtful you will win an arguement with them. It may even be the case you are arguing with the devil and no disrespects, but he is much cleverer than us.

Next time you hear the concluding doxology at the end of the Eucharist Prayer-through Him with Him and in Him etc’ is the time to pray for them. 👍

As well as the sacramental Protestants.
But the critical question is how do they define the word sacrament? Remember how can they believe in the real presence of Christ of they don’t believe in the sacrifice of the mass? If I recall correctly Scott Hahn says it himself that many mainstream Protestants believe the Catholic mass to be a sacrilege. Martin Luther even called the mass sacreligious. If that is true, how can they believe in the real presence? Another is they view Apostolic succession much differently than we do.

Umm … couldn’t see any pictures on the site. If they are referring to an upside down CROSS (without a corpus) they are actually accurate - it’s the symbol of St Peter, who was crucified upside down according to tradition.

An upside down CRUCIFIX (with a corpus on it) would be a Satanic symbol.
Do they mean the same St.Peter from the Bible? When was he crucified? Is it in the Bible? I know that a St.Peter was crucified and upside down but i never took the time to find out the whole story. Where can i find it? I’m sorry but there’s too many saints with the same names to keep track of sometimes.
