Hello everyone. There’s a Spanish-language Facebook page that posts hateful and libelous comments against the Catholic Church. It’s from some fundamentalist Christian website that also contains many conspiracy theories:

I’ve reported that page many times to Facebook and they won’t do anything about it.

I went off FB about three years ago for a myriad of reasons, one of the reasons being the blatant bias against anything prolife and really Christianity as a whole.😦
If every Christian bailed from FB,I dare say, they would begin to react!

You found only one? 😉

Unfortunately many groups find it necessary to denigrate the Church. (I like to think it’s because of our faith, doctrine and people. If we weren’t “good” there would be nothing to threaten them.) There are many of these groups. Why not? Christ told us it would be so!

We are all called to discipleship, but even the Apostles and disciples of Christ would shake the dust from their sandals and move along when they encountered such people. I don’t engage with any of these folks. Nothing I said would change their beliefs and nothing they said would change mine. All it would do is waste time and energy. Their hearts and minds are hardened.

So, I ignore and move on. I pray for their hearts and minds to be open and that they may someday recognize the loving God who hates such un-Christian behavior.

Instead, try to work with the many people with open minds and hearts who come on CA asking sincere questions about our faith. And pray. 🙂

But that’s not facebook, that’s just people. There are Catholic groups on facebook, and Muslim ones and Jewish ones and atheist ones and Hindu ones and pro-life ones and pro-choice ones and left-wing ones and right-wing ones and everything in between. Facebook could indeed ban everything “anti-Catholic” or even everything “anti-Christian” to keep their Catholic or Christian members, but they would also be losing a heck of a lot of members if they did that, too.

This gets even more confusing when you realize that there are many Christians that are anti-Catholic and that Catholics are opposed to many Christian groups. Which ones do you ban? What about SSPX groups? Are they undermining Catholicism or not? Should facebook really be playing the doctrine police?

Bottom line: facebook is like life. People have all sorts of opinions, beliefs, biases. Get a helmet.

I would recommend you to stay away from spanish speaking media as much as possible (except EWTN). I speak fluently spanish and what many have to say will upset any soul.:D:D:D

Amen. Some words I thought of that I consider when I see things like this:

“There are stupid people in the world. Always have been, always will be. Get over it.”

Or as one priest said, "pray for them. It won’t make them less of a jack***, but it will make you less of a jack***. "

Myoint was directed towards FB the entity, not responding to negative comments re Christianity, also ignoring or actually disallowing any prolife ad on their site, while endorsing and promoting, not only aborion agenda but rather vile material as well

They are only going to respond to a narrow array of content. Not to make light of it, but there is bias against all sorts of beliefs (or lack of) if you search enough.

facebook.com/nosotros.cl

The sad thing is, I bet if someone found an anti-jewish, or anti-muslim page, it would only take one person complaining and it would be removed quickly!

There is a double standard in the US when it comes to true religious freedom, it actually depends on what religion it is.

However, LEGALLY, if facebook removes an anti-jewish or anti-muslim page page due to complaints and does not remove an anti-christian page which also has complaints, then that is illegal, maybe if you remind facebook about this…?
