The reasons as stated with the question. How many years and what seminary did you attend to give you the title “Reverant”? Just curious. Is it a tough question?
What’s the point of that question? Many protestant denominations don’t send their leaders to seminary. They don’t have Apostolic Succession, and bible interpretation is up to the individual, so challenging a protestant on his Rev. title is kind of a moot point.

Case in point, my ex in-laws were all pastors. Two of them leading pentecostal churches got their “ordination” card in the mail. No coursework, just wanted to be a card-carrying minister. Certainly their denomination recognized them. But really anyone can be a protestant rev.

rev kevin,

you have your convictions, but you certainly don’t come across as that other guy…

That is one of the cool things about being Catholic.

All of the arguments others throw at us have been around for years, and years, and years. It is just the same ol stuff hashed over and over, never anything new.

Sometimes its like they are the new kid on the playground trying to show how tough they are. Only to learn that there is only one king on the playground, and it ain’t them.
I do agree with this completely. There are even books written by Catholics authors that address the arguments that Protestants come up with. One of my friends gave me one these books after I converted to Catholicism from the Baptist church. I know most of the arguments that Baptists mainly my parents and friends bring up. Catholics have a set of beliefs that Baptists will never have, they have too many variations, it all depends on what the pastor preaches, and what the elders set as education for the Sunday School classes. So one Baptist church is different from another Baptist church, and it really has a different atmosphere. One of the main arguments the Baptists have is that they go completely by the bible, and that’s all they teach, with no distractions meaning the statues and crucifixes that the Catholic churchs have in them, and all the saints that we ask to intercede for us, but yet they can ask other people to pray for them, ironic to say the least. I hope that this gives a little insight to everyone.

I read that nearly half the population of Haiti practices in Voodoo (Vodou), which would includes members of the Catholic majority. Perhaps the Baptists think they can do a better job than the Catholics in eliminating syncretism.
Hello Madglan, I know nothing about the culture of Haiti. However if 100% of Haitians bought into Voodoo and 80% of them are or were converted to Catholicism , I would think the Church is doing a great deal to fight the evil, Matthew 16: 18… Jesus said, "and on this rock I will build my Church and the jaws of death shall not prevail against it."The remaining 20%.,I suppose, would be practicing the voodoo evil and some of them would have been converted by Protestants such as the Rev. Pat Robinson.:shrug:Carlan

The irony. Come on people…you have to love the irony of this 😃

I don’t believe this question is for you…since the “rev” doesn’t want to answer this with intelligent answers, then I suspect anyone can be called a rev if they want to without any studies or schooling. The priests have to go to seminarian for years, prostate themselves for hours in front of the Holy Eucharist, and dedicate their lives to God in Holiness…what is wrong with this picture?
