The speeches, which sometimes draw several hundred people, often blend verses pulled from the Qur’an and items plucked from the news to paint an alarming image of Islam, a religion practiced by some 3.3 million Americans, or about 1 percent of the population.
To some, such as a Grand Forks, N.D., City Council member who invited Dakdok to speak there last fall, the talks are viewed as an exercise in free speech. But the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) and other groups see the message as dangerous hate speech that riles up audiences with depictions of Christian America under threat.
In December, a few weeks after Dakdok spoke in Grand Forks, a Somali restaurant in the city was firebombed. A Minnesota man has since been charged in the attack.

I disagree with the hate, but I do think Islam is not a good religion.

Surly this isn’t fair on the Islamic community, to tar them with all the same brush. We should reach out to them rather than isolating them. If we dont it will only make things worse.

I’ll answer that for you.
Because the war machine in the United States wants more war, plain and simple.
Many Americans brainwashed by their right-wing preachers and Fox “news” feed off of the racist and xenophobic propaganda with country music providing the national anthems of patriotism and war.
Donald Trump is loved.
Pope Francis is hated, even by Catholics.
One Presidential candidate wants to torture family members of people we deem as terrorists.
Another candidate wants to carpet bomb until ‘the desert sand glows in the dark’.

We are in DEEP darkness in this country.

I think you may benefit by studying the Islamic faith more deeply.

Pax Christi.

Donald Trump is loved? Pope Francis is hated?

When did all this happen?? And who are the people calling for the destruction of America?

It’s about Islam!

Sigh.

This planet stinks.

God save it…

Islam is not merely a religion; it is also a form of government - a theocracy. Consequently, Muslims do not and cannot hold the “separation of church and state” position that is common in the West.

In World War II, the Germans understood when they were beaten, and they surrendered in order to live another day because their world view permitted this type of reasoning. The Japanese soldiers, however, preferred to die rather than endure the humiliation of defeat.

Islam promotes the glory of the Jihad. They will never surrender, but they must be defeated.

Apologetics for and against different religions is part of the American scene, and has been that way since revolutionary times.

If it weren’t for this fact, this forum would be a lot smaller and have a lot different tone.

I’ve seen street preachers and door to door canvassers, and people with controversial opinions for or against different religions on TV and the radio my entire life .

Radical groups like CAIR can certainly oppose the CONTENT of the critics of islam in the greater St. Cloud area, but its just plain un-American for them to oppose people being allowed to voice criticism in the first place.

While there certainly are people who love Donald Trump as well as some who hate Pope Francis, I’d say the numbers who hate the former and love the latter are far greater.

Liberally lifted from the poster Exiled Child, worth repeating:
The reason is simple: we are encouraged to hate Islam with all our hearts.
This encouragement comes entirely from the mass media; directly from newspapers, magazines, talk radio, television news, sports and entertainment, Hollywood films, Hollywood/major label music, etc., and indirectly from mass media’s indoctrinated victims.
We must despise Muslims with every fiber of our being! It’s just what decent, intelligent people do, we’re told. It’s the reason for the undisguised scorn from so many CAF members in this thread and in countless others.
Of course, it goes without saying that if one were foolish enough to try this against any other religion one would very likely be swiftly rebuked or else just banned outright.
It depends upon the religion. One of them you’re not allowed to so much as breathe mild criticism of in even the gentlest and most peaceful way, whereas another one you’re expected to compare it’s adherents to rabid animals who need to be put down with a bullet to the head for their own good.
Charity for some but not for others, and anyone asking for an explanation is clearly not onboard with the lynch mob!
