Anti-Religious Themes in Fantasy/Horror Genre TV

Game of Thrones is not a good program. There are fine sets and costumes, but I don’t need to see exposed boobies or simulated sex or partial nudity or prostitutes in bed with whoever.

The Walking Dead is totally revolting. Again, fine sets and costumes, but I don’t need to see severed zombie heads flying through the air or crushed - up close - with a pipe or other graphic scenes like human cannibals casually cutting the throats of human captives where the blood pours into a trough. Zombies chowing down on living humans? Count me out.

Immorality and graphic violence are things to avoid. Watch what you put in your heads my fellow Catholics.

In horror first person shooter RPG video game, “Dead Island: Riptide”, a priest turns out to be a superstitious Voodoo witchdoctor and murderer, interested in bringing back the “ancient ways”, while a German scientist is portayed as being a highly respectable heroic figure for trying to figure out a cure during a zombie outbreak.

In fighter video game, “Mortal Kombat X”, a Shaolin warrior is supposedly gay and the other Shaolin are okay with it and do not judge him (not sure if thats necessarily anti-Christian directly or if video games count toward examples you were looking for).
 
Started Daredevil… it’s now my second favorite show, although it wasn’t the original point of this thread, thank you to whoever brought up the show. It’s awesome. It incorporates Catholicism to a degree that it’s noticed, he goes to confession and talks to a priest. Highly recommended! 😃
 
Well, I was most disturbed that Miss Ives actually helped the cut wife perform an abortion. Obviously Miss Ives has struggled with sin as everyone has, we saw this in season one when she has sex with Mina’s fiancé. It’s not just her being targeted by Satan. We can also see that she is struggling with the fact that her prayers are being invaded by evil. I really like this show. Although I feel that Dorian is basically just window dressing and his storyline is getting even more disturbing than it already was.

As for Supernatural. It frustrates me sometimes because it co-ops religious terminology but uses it in a false and bastardized way. But Crowley is so amusing I can’t stop watching and the woman that plays his mother is a fantastic actress plus Dean just cracks me up.

Hubby and I both zone out when Dorian is onscreen.
