The bottom line is that you can find groups of Catholics taking all kinds of weird positions that the majority of Catholics don’t share.
The vast majority of Catholics in the world aren’t concerned with a bunch of arrogant guys hung up on their own “masculinity”. I personally find such people laughable. The priests and the Pope will keep on doing their jobs regardless of what these men go around saying.

You will have to ask friends in France… What you are talking about is not normal for many places, especially the USA, where most people here are from. But I recommend again making friends with such people and personally encouraging vocations.
