This is a hate site. Complaining about it is silly. It’d be like going to stormfront and kvetching about the people there. Catholic Answers caters to haters. Without the hate, there would be no content here.
Well, perhaps that explains why you haven’t been banned yet. 😉

That’s a good point. The MADB forum regularly features topics which also rival stormfront and catholic answers, and is another font of priceless entertainment for amateur anthropologists everywhere.
MADB is VERY heavily moderated. Simply because of that, it is boring, and the most wacky LDS content never appears, because it would be used against LDS, just as LaMar is complaining about wacky Catholics here. Non-Mormons find it stifling, and exMormons regularly complain about being banned. Content which is offensive to Mormons is deleted regularly. There is no comparison.

As for the anthropolological and archaeological content, :rotfl:

I agree, I find LaMar’s flailing at clouds with a baseball bat quite entertaining.

I haven’t been banned from stormfront, either. Anyway, I’m glad to see so many of you are so twisted up over a casual analysis of the hatred here. Even a few of you apparently recognize the similarities.

I’ll let you get back to your catholic style antisemitism and discussing the coming global caliphate now.

Here are some more attacks against mormons:

There have been some pretty heavy anti-mormon violence lately. Is this not at least somewhat linked to the anti-“mormon” media frenzy?

Nazi Youth Attack Mormon Teens
azcentral.com/arizonarepublic/ local/articles/0505beating0506.html

Elder Beaten

House Vandalized
abclocal.go.com/ktrk/story?section =news/local&id=6097270

Another Elder’s Jaw Broken
ksl.com/?nid=148&sid=3211680

And would this not constitute a “national crisis” if the same number of attacks were directed against some other groups?

I took the above information from the mormonapologetic board.
Why is this being brought up on a Catholic board?

Do any of the articles say that Catholics were to blame?

I also find it amusing that you would post the article “House Vandalized” considering what some Mormon missionaries did to a Catholic Shrine. Especially since they posted pictures of their deed on the internet.

I’m detecting a pattern with some of these posts. When things are not going the LDS way on this forum, claim persecution.

What about the Mormon Threat email that was sent to loyal members of this forum by Catholic Answers? When a religion is classified as a threat, hatred is not far away from the equation.
I believe that email is mild compared to the LDS teaching that the Catholic church is the Great Whore of Bablyon.

That little piece of wisdom went out long before email was invented.

Even if the LDS have changed their “official” view on that issue, many LDS still believe it.

I haven’t seen any official apology for that, and I haven’t seen the Catholic Church screaming persecution over it either.

So Mormons think this is a hate site?

Let’s not correct you of your error shall we? We’ll just let you follow your worthless man made religion shall we? To do so would be an act of hate.

It is aweful that anyone is attacke physiclly because of their faith.

It is also aweful that any discussion of another faith is considered hate.

Is it hate for me to say that NAMBLA is full of sinners whose souls, should they not repent, will burn in hell for all eternity?

Is it hate for me to say that the teachings of Islam are fundamentally flawed compaired to Christianity?

Is it hate for me to say another religion is Apostate and a deciever of its members?

Is it hate for me to say that the LDS church has a flawed historical record?

This section of the forum is entitled: Non-Catholic Religions. I believe that mormonism is a non-catholic religion. That is why I brought it up here.

The book Mormon Doctrine made a mistake is classifying the catholic church in the negative. It has been refuted by leaders of the lds church. But the apostasy claim still stands. But that is not just a catholic thing but also a protestant thing too. It caused Joseph Smith much persecution but since he believe that it came from heavenly father he needed to stand by the claim.

The violence against mormons will increase because of hate sites and spiteful individuals who take pleasure in persecuting the lds church and its members.

You take these kooks way too seriously. Nobody who posts here has the brains or cojones to do anything in the real world. If they did, they wouldn’t sit around squawking threats and bigotry, they’d go do something violent.

Again, it’s another identical trait CA shares with stormfront. Sites like these cut down on violence, because they give the simpleminded a place to vent their impotent rage in a non-destructive fashion.

Enjoy this site for the entertainment it provides. If you’re allowing it to depress you, then the nutters win (at least in a small way).

I must say I find it interesrting that far more attention is payed to the ramblings and writings of LDS people often ones made in their spare time than to the books we claim as scriptures.

Yes, this is a Non Catholic section of a Catholic forum.

It appears by you posting this information on here, you are assuming, or implying that the people involved in this event are Catholic. Otherwise, why post it?

Violence is wrong, period. No matter what the reason. Age, sex, religous affiliation, etc., etc., Who knows what goes through the mind of criminals that commit such acts.

Just because a crime is committed against a mormon, it doesn’t mean there is a trend or conspiracy, grand scheme or plan.

Mormons are not the only ones attacked for their beliefs.

Here is an article showing that 35 Catholic missionaries were killed in 2003.

zenit.org/article-9702?l=english

Here is one that shows that 26 were killed in 2005.

cwnews.com/news/viewstory.cfm?recnum=41550

Cause for concern? You bet!! Reason to think it’s a conspiracy against Catholics? NO.

As far as the mormons changing their stance on the whore of bablyon teaching. Refuting it, is different than apologizing for it. Can you tell me who the member of the lds leadership apologized to the Catholic church for the persecution it caused with that teaching?

Finally, I like how you totally sidestepped the issue of you listing an article about a “house vandalized”, (assuming it was an lds family) yet you didn’t list the articles about LDS missionaries vandalizing a Catholic Shrine, and posting pictures of their deed on the internet.

As I remember that thread here on CAF, your biggest response to that issue was to wait until all of the information was in before making a judgement. Shouldn’t that apply here as well?

Again, there isn’t any indication that the attackers in this case were Catholic, and to bring it up here does nothing but imply that they are.

As I remember it his biggest response was missionaries are 18 to 20 year old kids and as such should be granted some slack.

Here’s an even more recent article, involving a shooting outside of a Catholic church.

ap.google.com/article/ALeqM5hU4ax39rFCnqHnipVp5TCGP6TKqgD90NNP0G0

Could the gunman have been targeting the bystanders because they were Catholic? Is it a conspiracy from the LDS?

The answer to both of those questions is NO. They are all just senseless acts of violence, nothing more, nothing less, Just like the article(s) you have cited.

Try not to look for persecution where none exists. It’s like the little boy who cried wolf.
