Antiphons for the Liturgy of the Hour

I have been looking at some LOTH sites like Univeralis but I noticed that Antiphons are usually a repetition of one of the verses of the Psalm or Cancticle it precedes and I wondered why that is.

The antiphon is generally the theme for that Psalm for the day/feast/etc.
 
As Fauken said, the antiphons are meant to follow the general theme of the psalm. If it is a feast day, then the antiphon is sometimes different to fit with the theme of that particular saint/feast that is being celebrated.
