Hello šŸ™‚

I was wondering if there is anyone here who likes to draw and especially likes to draw things related to their faith.

I was wondering, is there anything that is helpful in making the process more devotional, prayerful? For example, today I was drawing and I attempted to copy a Renaissance painting of the Archangel Gabriel… however, later I realized that I had done this with little devotion or prayer, but more like a painting of a secular nature 😦 and this made me feel sad because I could have approached it so much differently. I feel like I approached it too ā€œlightlyā€ā€¦ like just getting some practice…

is there anything that helps you to make the process more faith-oriented? šŸ™‚

comments from non artists are welcome too, if you have any ideas or thoughts on this šŸ™‚

God bless!

I am a wood burner, though I haven’t been doing it much lately. I believe that just using your talent, especially for making works of religious import, is a devotion.

The best way to make art as a form of prayer is to offer it up to God before during and after making it. I try to do that, but, I admit, sometimes I forget. That’s ok, though. God is not a prisoner of time. I’m sure he still values retroactive prayers. Here’s my devotional work:
