Sometimes, all you can do is present the Church’s teachings from Christ, then back away. He is not interested in a dialogue. He only wants you to pull away from the Catholic Church (and I’m assuming he’s acting in good faith based on what he believes). You should just spend more time making sure you know your faith, and live it every day. Include him in your prayers. You can’t change his heart. Let the Holy Spirit work on him.He makes all of the protestant claims as to why the Church is led by the devil; “revelation might as well be renamed the Catholic Church because it is the whore of babylon on seven hills, there is no mediator but Jesus, the Eucharist is a cannibalistic idea from the devil,” etc. etc. And no matter how many verses I show him or how many times I tell him about the 8 different versions of his “bible” his reply is always “you misinterpret or you don’t know what you’re talking about because the Catholic Church has got you brainwashed.” And it’s not just a feeling he KNOWS he’s led by the Holy Spirit.
