It works very well! I’ve only been a member a few months, but I’ve seen no friction at all over it. The only significant issue that divides TEC and ELCA is Apostolic Succession, And as andrewstx noted, ELCA is complying on that.

While ELCA and TEC have not merged they are in communion with each other, and share pulpits and altars through the Concordat. Your parish seems to be the coming thing.
 
I know many individuals who were Catholic at one time and are now Anglican, especially now that there are options in America for those Anglicans who are orthodoxical in nature. The Anglican church in the world as a whole is growing radically, especially in Africa and the Global South.
