Yes, I mean the band known for such songs as “With Arms Wide Open” and “Higher.”

Can’t say that I am… Sorry.

I AM a fan of Apollo Creed, though. Tremendous boxer who left us too soon.

I like some of their songs, including the one you listed ‘With Arms Wide Open’, I also like their songs ‘One Last Breath’ ‘Rain’ and ‘My Sacrifice’. I like a tone of other bands too. (Not that I approve of many videos to songs, I don’t watch many in case there is an inappropriate one).

Hope this helps 🙂

God Bless

Josh

I liked them 15 years ago when I was in high school :D. Are they still around?

I am assuming you are referring to the post-grunge rock band Creed and actually yes I am a fan of Creed I feel kind of sorry for Scott Stapp though he tried to bring the message of God to people and found the devil in the bottle. I think he needs prayers as do all public figures.

Just for kicks, if you are a fan of the band, check out “Pickin’ on Creed”. Its an all accoustic/instrumental album of their songs done in kind of a bluegrass genre. This band does covers of other bands as well… somethin’different.

That actually sounds amazing.

I didn’t like the stand alone movie. But loved the character in the rocky films. In a way, creed brought about peace between the US and Russia…

As for the band, I liked them in in high school because I liked the Christian influence in mainstream music. Especially in that specific genre which seems dominated by anti Christian philosophies. But then, I realized they were easily copied and the sound was gimmicky, almost muppet like. After other bands copied it, it became stale. Creed has a distinct flavor of a band that struggled ( confirmed by thier multiple breakups and attempts of reuniting and infighting) and an almost starship or Bachman turner overdrive flavor of being a little bit of a sellout.

So, no. I’m not a fan. Blech.

They are somewhat of a punchline now though.

Creed would have been better if they had chosen the lane of Christian rock and stayed in it. Sure, they wouldn’t have hit the peaks but they would have stayed true.
A classic example of " know your role"

Not a Creed fan but I do like Arms Wide Open for a special reason. The first time I heard it I was expecting my first child. The words of the song, combined with my hormones caused me to.:crying::bighanky:

Yeah, it is a great song.

I can’t say the band known as Creed received too much respect from rock critics. CAF members might want to check this and this out.

I’m offended that Creed is on any list with Metallica, U2, or GNR. That is an insult to three good and talented bands. But I think any list with Creed and Durst, and One Direction is spot on!

sounds like someone’s jealous of them. I get so tired of people bashing bands that sell millions and millions of albums yet no one claims they ever listen to them and U2 has albums that are that great and even though Joshua tree is one of my favourite albums all time Metallica should apologise for st. anger. I think you can say what you want about Creed but at least they were consistent. I get so tired of people on the internet - sayong this band this band you know what dude you don’t have to like someone else’s taste in music. I think the fact that people claim that they don’t listen to them yet they’ve sold millions of albums means that there are few people out there that are lying. I don’t think you have to like them but you don’t have to compare them to One Direction that’s just well, unfair.

Lol. Yeah. Consistent. Like the way brussel sprouts taste!😉
For some reason. And I honestly don’t know why, when I hear Creed’s music, I somehow smell BO. And it isn’t mine…

I’ve only heard a few of their songs, but found them rather boring. There’s just not enough color there for my palette. Everything is kind of grayscale.

What’s This Life For might be a good example of this. The guitars sound vanilla and almost dissonant, and the hook is almost dirge-like.

Con: “What’s This Life For” has some controversial lyrics.

Pro: “In America” has explicit - dare I say “in your face” - pro-life lyrics. Plus, “Faceless Man” can be interpreted in a way that symbolizes a conversion experience.
