He’s my patron, so I’ve been trying to find more prayers to venerate him. I have a chaplet of St. Joseph but it seems weird or off to me.

There’s a prayer in my missal that I say after Mass:

Saint Joseph, Guardian of virgins and father, to whose faithful care Christ Jesus, innocence itself, and Mary, Virgin of virgins, were entrusted, I ask and beg of thee, through these two dearest pledges, Jesus and Mary, preserve me from all defilement, and make it always possible for me unsullied in mind, pure in heart, and chaste in body to give to Jesus and Mary my holiest service. Amen. (There is a Latin version of this prayer if you want it)

My other prayer-book has these prayers:
Memorare to St. Joseph
Remember, O most pure spouse of the Blessed Virgin Mary, my sweet protector, St. Joseph! that no one ever had recourse to thy protection or implored thy aid without obtaining relief. Confiding therefore in thy goodness I come before thee, and humbly supplicate thee. Oh, despise not my petitions, foster-father of the Redeemer, but graciously receive them. Amen.

St. Bernadine of Siena’s prayer to St. Joseph
Be mindful of us, O blessed Joseph, and intercede on our behalf with thy reputed Son, and secure for us the favor of thy most holy virgin spouse, the Mother of Him Who liveth and reigneth with the Father and the Holy Ghost, world without end. Amen. (Latin version also available)

Prayer to St. Joseph in Any Great Necessity
O most faithful guardian of Jesus and spouse of Mary, thou seest the anguish of my heart. I am disturbed and perplexed. Obtain for me the light of the Holy Ghost and all the helps I need to enable me at all times and in all things to fulfill the adorable will of God. I choose thee this day, in the presence of Jesus and Mary, as my angel of good counsel, to direct me in all my necessities. Guide me, I entreat thee, by the many bitter dolors which rent thy tender heart during the course of thy mortal pilgrimage. Amen.

Prayer to St. Joseph, Patron of the Universal Church
O most powerful patriarch, St. Joseph, patron of that universal Church which has always invoked thee in anxieties and tribulations; from the lofty seat of thy glory lovingly regard the Catholic world. Let it move thy paternal heart to see the mystical spouse of Christ and His vicar weakened by sorrow and persecuted by powerful enemies. We beseech thee, by the most bitter suffering thou didst experience on earth, to wipe away in mercy the tears of the reverend Pontiff, to defend and liberate him, and to intercede with the Giver of peace and charity, that every hostile power being overcome and every error being destroyed, the whole Church may serve the God of all blessings in perfect liberty: ut destructis adversitatibus et erroribus universis Ecclesia secura Deo serviat libertate. Amen.

Ejaculations & invocations
St. Joseph, model and patron of those who love the Sacred Heart of Jesus, pray for us.
Grant, O holy Joseph, that, ever secure under thy protection, we may pass our lives without guilt.
Help us, Joseph, in our earthly strife; ever to lead a pure and blameless life.
St. Joseph, foster-father of Our Lord Jesus Christ and true spouse of Mary ever virgin, pray for us.

👍

I love St. Joseph. One of the schools I went to is named St. Joseph’s, my parish is St. Joseph, and I intend on being buried in a cemetery named St. Joseph’s. Love him.

Thank you for posting the prayers.

Only v. recently. Currently praying the 30 day Holy Cloak of St Joseph novena.

holyspiritmims.com/documents/2015/4/St%20Joseph%20Holy%20Cloak%20Novena.pdf

The Novena of the Holy Cloak of St Joseph comprises of the Sections listed below. Start from Section 1
through to Section 6 to Complete the Novena.
The Novena is to be recited on 30 (thirty) consecutive days in memory of the 30 years St Joseph spent in
the company of Jesus Christ, Son of God. If for some reason you cannot recite the prayer on a particular
day, you may make up for it by reciting it on the 30th day as many times as the recitation was missed.
Remember the Extraordinary Graces obtained by this prayer are innumerable. In fact St Theresa of Avila
(Doctor of the Church) said, “If you really want to believe in it, prove it to yourself by reciting the Novena -
and you will be finally convinced.”

As a single mom, I have a great love of and devotion to St Joseph ❤️

This is the little prayer we say:

“Dear St Joseph, be the guardian of our home and the head of our household.”

Simple.

Maria Cecilia Baij, O.S.B., received some amazing revelations about the life of St. Joseph, including some of the little prayers he prayed. If I get the chance, I will post a couple.

He disappears from the Bible when Jesus is still a boy. I assume he was quite a bit older than Mary and died long before she did. I often wonder what happened to him, though.

Although I have read the aforementioned revelations as well as some more scholarly literature on St. Joseph, I remember next to nothing! But I do vaguely recall a few facts, which are consistent with what you have said.

According to Fr. Paul of Moll, the body of St. Joseph will one day be found incorrupt - but not until devotion to this “foster father” of the Mystical Body is sufficiently widespread.

Thank you for the information. I appreciate it! 👍

Consider wearing a St. Joseph Cord to venerate the Seven Joys and Sorrows of St. Joseph.

The Joys and Sorrows are the following:
Code:
The doubt of Saint Joseph (Matthew 1:19) and the Message of the Angel (Matthew 1:20)
The poverty of Jesus' birth (Luke 2:7) and the Birth itself (Luke 2:7)
The Circumcision (Luke 2:21) and the Holy Name of Jesus (Matthew 1:25)
The prophecy of Simeon that many would be lost (Luke 2:34) and his prophecy that many would rise (Luke 2:34)
The flight into Egypt (Matthew 2:14) and the Overthrow of idols (Isaias 19:1
The return from Egypt (Matthew 2:22) and Life with Mary and Jesus (Luke 2:39)
The loss of the Child Jesus (Luke 2:45) and Finding Jesus in the Temple (Luke 2:46)
According to Fisheaters, the cord originates from a miraculous healing of an Augustinian nun attributed to St. Joseph in Belgium in 1657. The cord is thought to have four special graces:
Code:
St. Joseph's special protection
The grace of chastity
Final perseverance
St. Joseph's particular assistance at the hour of death
There are also other devotional cords, like that of St. Philomena and St. Thomas Aquinas.

Thank you for the information. I appreciate it! 👍
No problem!
Sounds legit.
I think so. Fr. Paul of Moll accurately predicted many remarkable events.

“Oh my God! If it please You to increase my pains, behold, I am ready! I thank You for all that You are sending me, and I accept everything from Your Divine hands!” (p. 326, ‘The Life of St. Joseph, as manifested by Our Lord, Jesus Christ to: Maria Cecilia Baij, O.S.B.’)
