I agree with you 100%. Unfortunately, the Protestants don’t do the same. They neglect to do their homework, which leads to such gross misrepresentations. I think we should be smarter, always prepared to give an answer, studying to show ourselves approved.Now please don’t anybody start throwing eggs here or calling for my excumminication. But…
I would suggest to all who want to get involved in apologetics to read Boettner’s book. If for no other reason, you should get one heck of a laugh out of it.
But seriously, I have found many who plagerize Boettner to no end. They might dress up the style ( Boettner writes like a sophomore in High School) but you can find where and also see tha they lack the same citing as he does. This will help in instances where you come across some of that garbage.
Although recently new to the Apologetics arena, I have found that by reading the game plan of the enemy, If you can recognize which “playbook” it comes out of, you can throw all kinds of curves that either shut them up or send them packing.
If nothing else consider it Fides ad facetius et comicus
