Mormon cases don’t get the nation wide attention Catholic cases get simply because there aren’t as many Mormons as Catholics.

Yes, there are bad men, there had been bad bishops, priests and popes, lay people, etc, is this news? Yes, they covered up a horrible evil, and yes, some one will pay, with money, and more. BUT again we go back to the basic TRUTHS, which are NOT bad, evil, mis-leading and are not compromised by fools and monsters hiding in sheep’s clothing. They are not the same thing. Many people, many things have tried to bring down the Church Z, look at history, from the inside and out, corrupt MEN, but see we recognize our CORRUPTION as that of misguided men, like Joseph Smith. Look at what the Church teaches, professes, in Christ, through Christ. There are a Billion Catholics Z, wrap your mind around that number, if half left to join the Moonies, we’d still have numbers that just dwarf the LDS. Why? Because it’s the True Faith and evil monsters likeNero, Justin the Apostate, misguided heretics like Martin Luther, twisted lier’s like some of the current Bishops and Priest, or poor fools like YOU, won’t bring the Church down. It’s GOD’S CHURCH, Z, NOT MANS. MAN CAN’T DESTROY IT NO MATTER HOW HARD HE TRIES. He can hurt it, and hurt others in the process, but you can’t destroy TRUTH. We know this, and this is something on a breath and scale you just can’t imagine or understand. God will purge the Church, as he has done in the past, and raise up men and women as he has done through out the centuries and centuries and centuries and centuries and centuries and centuries…

I don’t know about Jeffers, but I know about this guy who “married” a 14-year-old girl in the 1840s. I believe his name was Joseph Smith! That girl was the same age or younger than many of the young people these “pedophilic” Catholic priests abused.

Absolutely correct. The history of the Church shows frequent reform. This also goes back into the Jewish past, the OT. The Jews were frequently brought down by God, sometimes almost completely destroyed, because of their sin. There is nothing new about disobedient people in the Church.
When Catholics and Jews have reformed, they’ve done so with an eye to the past, unlike the Mormons who often have gone off on a new tack entirely. Every day can be a new doctrinal day for the Mormons. They actually see this as a strength, I’m sure, but in reality it is their greatest weakness. It does allow them to adapt to Utah state law, as in the case of polygamy, but in so doing it more fully exposes the fallacy of polygamy, and makes their revelation something subject to the Utah legislature.
Sacred Tradition of Catholicism is a treasure, one that keeps us grounded in the teachings of the Apostles. While the Mormons and JWs are scurrying around, trying to poke scriptural holes in our religion, we are standing on the rock of Peter, of Scripture and Tradition, unchanging, unchangeable, eternal, perfect.

Yes, and this is a good point. Our LDS prevaricateurs are often wont to point a finger at Catholic priestly sins, while ignoring those of their own. Oh, sure, they will say that Jeffs and his crew are schismatics, and that may be at least partially true, depending on which doctrinal approach one uses interpreting Mormon “modern scripture” and corrected Bible.
The fact remains: The Jeffs branch broke off from the LDS branch around a century ago, after the LDS branch obeyed the Utah legislature in discontinuing the overt practice of polygamy. BTW don’t think for a moment that the LDS stopped polygamy altogether. It was still being practiced by the mucky-mucks well into the 20th century, and for all we know is still being practiced by them today. Moreoever, there are many polygamous LDS sects scattered around Utah and AZ, as has been revealed in news stories recently. No, the LDS cannot fully disown Warren Jeffs and the FLDS. They gave birth to it, it flows from their “modern scripture” and they share most things with it, including and especially the sin of polygamy.

Hey all you clowns that at least know the name of God - there is an army gearing up to remove you from the face of the earth. The Islamists all worship at the feet of their original Mecca gang leader, Marks-a-lot Dhamed or whatever, and they remember that the last thing he said was to take their religion around the world at the point of a sword. Now that they have the cash and numbers to do it, they are working on it as hard as they can. Since the days of Jimmy Carter they’ve counted success on top of success. Just this week they had a gang in Birmingham, England all set to snatch an English Muslim war vet to perhaps torture & kill. You’re gonna be praying for that Mormon/Catholic next to you when you’re both in the enemy’s sight. They’re the ones with a murder fetish. That fool you’ve been fussing at could end up your best friend.

I agree. I’m already praying for Mormons. And I don’t think they are going to hell either. We have honest disagreements about theology and history. They have come on this web site to try to convince Catholics that Catholics are wrong and Mormons are right. We Catholics don’t agree. That doesn’t mean I want any harm to come to any of them now or in the next life. I tend to believe Jesus has found a way to get even non-Catholics with theological errors into heaven, but it will be through the ministry of the church he founded on earth – the Catholic Church.

Where’s the part about moving these evil men from place to place, so that one man could ruin thousands of lives over years and years. How many years does it take for the lord to purge the church. So that it is safe for children again. Some of the catholic parents may want to know. I am sure there are many pedafiles still operating in the catholic church. It’s so rampant, they couldn’t have caught them all. What about the one’s that we didn’t hear about, that were settled secretly over all these years?

Firstly, I think if you read my post, I say ‘evil’, because that is what those priests are in my opinion. Secondly, I don’t seem to re-call any claim of justifying those actions, nor do I suppose would ‘you’ about the LDS identified in the other news links. Do you? What about Jeffs? I’m sure you feel the same way. What is you position on those LDS members shown in the links? God is already purging the Church and has been, don’t you read the papers…There is no excuses offered by me nor the Mother Church, for these ‘Evil’ men. What they did was catastrophic, but like I said before, it will not bring down the Church and that just eats you up, like so many before you, that have thrashed against the Church… Heretics, Apostates, criminals, mad Emperors, corrupt rulers, corrupt clergy, pedophile priests on a mission from Satan, crazy Mormons, you all scratch and claw at the Church like wild animals, angry, seething. Why is this, 'thing, this Church, still here, what must be done to destroy it? Sorry wademann, but when you and I are dust, with all the others I just mentioned, the Church will be heading toward her 3 millennium.

I’ve already provided documentation that Mormons have their own problems in this regard, but none of that is really important. Even if the number of Catholic sexual abuse cases doubled and the Mormon ones completely disappeared, it wouldn’t change the facts about the Book of Mormon. It also wouldn’t change the fact that Jesus established a church when he was on the earth and the only church which has a continuous line of authority is the Catholic Church. Instead of discussing this red herring, show me some proof from non-Mormon scholars that Native Americans descended from Hebrews. If you can’t do that you will have to simply admit there is no proof available for the Mormon scriptures. I wonder how many people that Stake President ordained while he was pursuing a teenager in Idaho? Would you declare all of those ordinations invalid because of his sin? Would his apostasy indict the entire stake of which he was a leader?
