I do not know where to exactly post this

I was wondering if anyone knew any good free online Bible studies? I know there are a lot of Protestant Bible studies but can not find any Catholic ones… Does anyone have any suggestions?

My personal opinion: everyone should have some budget for Bible study materials. On a lifetime basis, I’d say maybe $2000 in 2019 dollars. Look for the best. I’ve never found any commentary that totally satisfied me. I take a chance and get a new book and, surprisingly, I run across new ideas or insights that I’ve never read before.

John Bergsma and Brant Pitre have published the first of two volumes of commentaries on the Bible.

Introduction to the Catholic Bible: Old testament. You get what you pay for. This books demands a slow consideration of each book in the OT. If you were to get this, I suggest you go through their commentary one Bible book at a time, looking up all the scripture citations in the corresponding chapter of their book.

There may be free online studies, but there’s no ultimate set of studies. You will want more.

I’m also half way through Taylor Marshall’s The Crucified Rabbi which shows how Judaism ended to be replaced by the Catholic Church. The next book in his series is The Catholic Perspective on Paul (or something like that), which I’ve read. This book shows how Catholic belief is based on St Paul. These are each around 210 pages, so they are very compact, for the subject he’s covering. See? These books are from a different angle than Bergsma and Pitre’s book.

You just can’t get this quality online, as far as I know.

These are very good. (St. Paul Center/Scott Hahn)
Agape Bible Study is another good one.
This one is audio only. Chapters (audio talks) are listed on the right hand side.

Thank you for this… it looks great and I just signed up!

I guarantee you’ll love it. They have everything, over 800 hours of archived videos and you can watch live webinars. You can also check out their weekly Sunday Gospel reflection. Click on the programs tab.

Sadly, that seems to be true. Is there anything available online, free of charge, along the lines of the Sacra Pagina NT commentaries, or the newer (though apparently shorter) Catholic Commentary on Sacred Scripture? No audio, no video, just print. (Because of my deafness.)

If your parish has FORMED, (formed.org) you can watch the Lectio series, which is awesome Bible study.

If you parish doesn’t have FORMED, I highly recommend that you either by a personal subscription or convince Father to buy it for the parish.

God bless

You might want to try this website BartholomewB. The link is to the homepage. Links at the top for Old Testatent or New Testament.
I came across the site by accident this morning while googling lectio divina. Remembered your post & thought it might be something you could use. I haven’t used it yet but am definitely bookmarking it for future Bible commentary use.

Thank you! Some of those notes look fascinating … it’ll take time to sift through them carefully. Does the abbreviation OCSO after the author’s name mean he is a Trappist monk?

The Diocese of Saginaw (saginaw.org) had a whole day’s seminar last year relating to Catholics with disabilities. You might want to visit that website for further information about your needs. I did not have a reason to attend that local conference.

What format of information works best for you?

What I was originally looking for, as I said in an earlier post, was a Catholic Bible commentary that I could consult online free of charge. These are the two series that I quoted as examples. I don’t want to buy them, not only because of the cost but because I’d have to find space for them. The Sacra Pagina series, in 18 volumes, adds up to over 7,000 pages. The CCSS is shorter, but even so it still runs to over 5,000 pages.
