I am gathering quotes to convince a catholic organization that Eucharistic devotion should be included as a form of prayer in its major gatherings. Can you help me?

The Second Vatican Council rightly proclaimed that the Eucharistic sacrifice is “the source and summit of the Christian life”, Ecclesia de Eucharistia*, His Holiness Pope John Paul II.*

My post is probably too late to do much good, but here are a few of my favorite quotes anyway. By the way, I’ve been trying to get people more interested in adoration here at Western Washington Univ.

The first saint I would recommend you read is St. Peter Julian Eymard. He founded an order of priests committed to adoration.

Anyway here are some quotes: “There is nothing greater on this earth than the Eucharist.”* -St. Peter Julian Eymard*

“I throw myself at the foot of the Tabernacle like a dog at the foot of his Master.”- St. John Vianney

“Do you realize that Jesus is there in the tabernacle expressly for you, for you alone? He burns with the desire to come into your heart.”
- Saint Therese of Lisieux

“If angels could be jealous of men, they would be so for one reason: Holy Communion.” - St. Maximilian Kolbe

“Until we have a passionate love for our Lord in the Most Blessed Sacrament we shall accomplish nothing” - St. Peter Julian Eymard

“When you look at the Crucifix, you understand how much Jesus loved you then. When you look at the Sacred Host you understand how much Jesus loves you now” - Blessed Mother Teresa of Calcutta

“Do you want many graces? Go and visit the Blessed Sacrament often. Do you want few graces? Visit the Blessed Sacrament rarely. Do you want none at all? Then never pay a visit to the Blessed Sacrament,” - St. John Bosco

And here are a few teasers to get people thinking:

You probably want to spend eternity with Him later…how about an hour a week now?

If God decided to live in a house in Detroit (whatever your hometown is), would you stop by to visit Him?

Hope this helps.

St. Bonaventure, Bishop and Doctor, Italy (c. 1218-1274)—Feast, July 15
Known as the “Seraphic Doctor,” St. Bonaventure—a Franciscan—wrote: “Lord
Jesus Christ, pierce my soul with your love so that I may always long for you
alone, who are the bread of angels and the fulfillment of the soul’s deepest
desires. May my heart always hunger for you, so that my soul may be filled with
the sweetness of your presence.”
This web site gives you qoutes for each day. There is also an order that helps parishes get started. I will try to find it soon and post it. If I do not, try a web search on Eucharistic Adoration.

What is this particular Catholic organization?

If it’s a sports club where the members come dressed for athletic activity, it might not be appropriate.

OTOH, there may not be a reason why people can’t come early to make individual visits before the meetings.
