I can’t say I enjoy movies with pretty girls being hacked up…pretty sick if you ask me.

Horror movies are awesome… Big Fan

The most recent ones I’ve seen were House of Wax, and Amityville Horror (2005)… Amityville was awesome, House of Wax was ok, but it took a while for it to pick up.

The Shining scared the hell out of me.

Hi guys!

It seems to me that now the best horror movies are those where the plot does not originate in America. Halloween, Nightmare on Elm Street, and the Friday the 13th movies don’t really appeal to me because there always seems to be yet another way to resurrect the monster for the purposes of a sequel. If I’m not mistaken, movies like the Ring were remakes of movies from Japan. For me, true horror lies not so much in a monster, but in a set of horrible circumstances that can’t be explained.

I love psychological horror only. I can not and will not watch bloody, gory movies.
The best horror movie I’ve ever seen was the 1963 version of “The Haunting of Hill House”. Not a monster or murder in the entire movie and I still can’t watch it in the dark while alone in the house.
I also enjoy the 1933 version of Dracula with Bela Lugosi Still scary after all these years!

I’m a horror movie fan. Loved them since I was a child.

Night of the Living Dead the original one from 1966 I believe

Pumpkinhead

Texas Chain Saw Massacre both versions. I recently saw the newest one and it is a juicer

A lot of people don’t like them but I do enjoy a good scare.

Altho most think Alien is a scifi flick, I consider it to be one of the greatest horror movies ever. It scared the daylights out of me when I first saw it back in the 70s.

I love vampire movies…can’t get enough of them. One of the best is the 1933 Spanish version of Dracula. It was shot at night on the same sets as the Bela Lugosi version…

I can’t watch horror movies. Never have been able too. I’m a huge wuss. The last one I saw was the Ring and only because my best friend was watching it at her house and I joined her like in the middle. Only half of it, and it scared the heck out of me. Uggh shiver

I have seen Freddy vs. Jason but that was so gory and dumb it was like funny. I don’t really consider those kind of movies scary.

I remember when Scream came out when I was in middle school and my mom wouldn’t let me watch it because she knew it would scare me. (I’ve seen it since then, another dumb gory film, wasn’t that scary really, just gross). I have a reputation of being a huge 'fraidy-cat. 😉

In the horror genre, I prefer the classical horror movies to the modern “slasher” movie. Violence for violence sake is not acceptable.

I saw “House of Wax” and I thought it was dumb. To me, gore is not scary.

I am a big fan of Japanese horror films like the Grudge and the Ring. I also like “The Others”.

i can identify with this. i saw it in the 70’s when it came out and the night after, i was afraid to go to sleep. that was definitely the scariest movie i ever saw. also “the tingler” in the 50’s, they had vibrators in the floor.

i loved “young frankenstein”, not exactly horror, but very good humor. “walk this way”

I tend to watch them only if I can call people in the middle of the night when I have nightmares. Otherwise, I am not usually a thriller kind of person. The adrenaline rushes are fine and usually can be gained by reading horror stories, in which my imagination runs wild and tends to get even more scary than any movie could possibly be. Or I could just go to Calc class. That, in itself, tended to be a horror film (as did health class)…So, I guess I do watch them, but maybe am not a complete fan. Also, like a geek, I enjoy paying attention to all the devices employed and look for the signs that make a horror film one. So much fun! I learned a lot in AP English this year!

The House on Haunted Hill in 3d when it came out back in the late 50s/early 60s was very scary. Hitchcock’s The Birds was too.

I loved all of the Hammer vampire movies from back in the 60s too.

The point made about gore is right on target. I want to be scared by a horror movie not grossed out. I don’t watch hack and slash movies.

👍 This is my kind of horror. How 'bout the brain from Abbie Normal?

I’m really down for whatever except porn when it comes to movies. My tops are action films, but I like horror too. Honestly, I don’t really care what I watch…I like most things.

When you see and hear, chemical and structural changes are made in your brain. The actual wiring of your brain is altered in order to form a memory of what you are seeing and hearing.

Why would I want to subject my brain, and to be altered physically by such horrific images?

Sure, the movie is not real, but why would I want such horrific stuff to be physically present in me? I mean, real life is bad enough 🙂
