Any ideas of what to do with old Word Among Us?

My mother and I both love The Word Among Us and think others could benefit too. They can be read at any time for spiritual enrichment. We hate to throw the issues out so they have been accumulating. I searched for places that they could be donated to with no success. None of our local prison ministries want them nor did the archdiocese have any ideas of who could use them. Even the company that makes them had no idea. Has anyone had a similar quest? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I’d be open to paying to ship them somewhere even! God Bless.
 
You’re not going to like this suggestion, but if you just keep them, put them away and forget you have them, they’re going to be a collectors’ item in 50 or 100 years much like the old copies of “Sacred Heart Messenger” that my mom took from her mom’s house.
 
Perhaps order them electronically through Amazon? That’s how I do it…think its $1.99 a month, and then have access to them perpetually without taking a lot of space.
 
Why not keep a few of them at a time in your car (or pocketbook, backpack, etc.) and leave them individually in public spaces? That’s what the evangelicals do.
 
I would scan them and throw away or shred the paper copies. That way you still have them but they don’t take up any space.
 
If we kept every paper missalette, WAU, Magnificant, Our Daily Bread, etc. we’d drown!

Keep what you want and recycle the rest.

Indeed. Sometimes people leave old copies of these publications scattered around my parish, probably because they have that same feeling of not knowing what to do with them, but thinking they might be of use to someone. They get recycled.

I completely understand the feeling, though. I’m a pack rat by nature that has to fight against that impulse. I’m always imagining that every object around me might have some secret, immeasurable value to someone out there, and if I throw it away I’ll never know. 😝
 
Oh, I can relate. Only in the past year or so am I beginning to purge!
