This is a link to the England/Wales Latin Mass Society. This particular section is about mantillas (and modesty):

It may not be a common practice-but there are some out there./QUOT

This is brilliant, thankyou. Do you know any places that sell mantillas, or would it be acceptable to wear an ordinary headscarf?

Can anyone tell me if men ever cover their heads in church? I am thinking about the situation in Judaism and Islam where men wear a Kippah or skullcap. Has this ever happened in the Catholic church?
Many thanks
Rachel

(There was also an address where to purchase mantillas in the UK at the bottom of the Englans/Wales link)

It is quite acceptable to wear a plain headscarf (or even a hat).

Men are not to wear anything covering their heads in church:

“Every man praying or prophesying, having his head covered, dishonoureth his head.” KJV 1 Corinthians 11:4

“For a man indeed ought not to cover his head, forasmuch as he is the image and glory of God: but the woman is the glory of the man. For the man is not of the woman; but the woman of the man. Neither was the man created for the woman; but the woman for the man. For this cause ought the woman to have powerb on her head because of the angels.” KJV 1 Cor 11:7-10
