Any Marlon Brando fans?

I watched a good movie the other day with Marlon Brando called Morituri. A really good movie. Yul Brynner was in it also.

Of course, my favorite role he played was The Godfather.

I don’t know much about his early years, but his later years seemed sad and tragic.
 
I have seen some of that movie, but not all. Did he do his own singing?
 
When I was young and silly,I watched last tango in Paris, thought it was great,
Now that I’m old and silly ,I started to watch it again,turned it off before midway,
Really Pathetic movie in every sense

I forgot about that movie. Was he in that?

I have seen some of those movies but haven’t sat down to see either one in their entirety. Usually they have already started and I have watched a little. I know there is the line Brando says in ASND that many people refer to - “Steeeeelllllllaaaaaaa!”

The Wild One was on the other day.

Okay. I know OF the famous scene, but I actually
have never seen it. Rod Steiger was a good actor too. I will think of what you said happened if I ever get a chance to see the movie in its entirety.
 
Loved him in both Streetcar and in The Godfather.

Heard he liked to play pranks. While filming the scene in the Godfather when he comes home from the hospital, originally the sons were supposed to carry him on a stretcher up the stairs. He had the stage hands put weights in the stretcher and then laid down on top of them.

Also heard he was terrible at learning lines for the Godfather( might have been a fast schedule) and he wrote his lines in props and papers all over the place.

Still, I can’t see anyone else playing his role in the Godfather.

I recently saw Streetcar. I think he was better in “On the Waterfront”.

I think that Brando had the largest range of any actor. He did wonderful dramatic roles as well as comedy.

Sayonara is one of my favorites as well as The Teahouse of the August Moon and Guys and Dolls. I must be one of the few people who never saw the God Father.

I heard the same thing, but it was just a way to look different, like makeup. No reason to skip a great movie because of cotton, lol!

I think I might have liked him in the James Dean role better from seeing that little bit.
