I know one forum a person posted a pic of a person with a afro and when i told one of the admins what the thing meant,they just laughed it off,which IMHO is not acceptable.

And back in the day they used to have a sim in the virtual world of SL,but me and others told the Lindens about them and got the sim removed for griefing.
Because any intolerance should be stopped instead of being ignored.

And i told a mod what that symbol was but they just ignored it,which to me is not acceptable. I used to provide counter intellegence to a anti griefer group that used to deal with people like that.

I’m especially fond of Yngwie Malmsteen, especially his instrumentals-- nothing objectionable about music that has no lyrics, right? But hey, I’m not perfect in my choices though I do try to avoid the really “dark” stuff. I also have some issues with certain Queensryche music, which I’m trying to sort out. Still, I like their style even if some of the topics are questionable (in my mind, anyway).
Like another poster said, I don’t like that guttural stuff (“puking into the microphone”-- LOL!!). To me, it sounds like Cookie Monster or something!

Other than that, I like to listen to hybrid symphonic music. It’s symphonic music containing heavy metal, SATB choir, synths, battle toms, taiko, and other percussive pieces. It is “this is Sparta” or “300” type of music. I love it, it gets me going in the morning.

Slipknot is one of the worst bands out there. I can’t stand satanic music. And trust me, that stuff is on their lyrics. I used to listen to Slipknot before I became catholic.

Seriously, though, I like all of those bands. It’s good to see more metalheads here.
You’ve probably already seen that they finally revealed Mike Portnoy’s replacement in Dream Theater. I’d never heard of the guy before, but it turns out I own some CDs that he has played on (Steve Vai’s “Fire Garden”). It will be interesting to hear the band without Portnoy. I can’t imagine.
In addition to the above, I’m a big fan of Sonata Arctica, Kamelot, Blind Guardian, Rhapsody (of Fire), Theocracy, Pain of Salvation, Ayreon, Royal Hunt, Savatage and many more.
As I often enjoy some of the quirky stuff, I’ve recently discovered and have been enjoying Van Canto, an a capella metal band. Here is them doing a cover of Metallica’s Battery:
