St Rita healed a family friend of a great physical affliction. In gratitude I made a page on my website to thank her.

Thanks. I like your website. I love St. Philomena and St. Anne as well. A priest told me that St. Philomena is not recognized by the Church as a saint anymore. I don’t think he had accurate information. I have a great devotion too these two saints and St. Therese. I recently added St. Rita. On you website, I noticed you pray for children and adults with autism. Do you include abused children? I didn’t see it, but wondered if you don’t would you consider adding that to your website. Just asking. I hope and pray St. Rita will help two children I am praying for and my marriage. Thanks for your words and sharing your website. I love your page on St. Rita.

Thank you for your kind comments about my website: There are a lot of St Philomena topics on it, (miracles etc). The comprehensive list of topics for St Philomena is at: homestead.com/missionbell/StPhilomenaTopicsMenu.html

On the question of St Philomena and her current standing on the church, there is an article here: homestead.com/missionbell/page1.html

It is entitled: Present Ecclesial Status of Devotion to St. Philomena by Dr. Mark I. Miravalle.

Dr Miravalle has researched this topic thoroughly and his article is scholarly. It is a lengthy article which covers 16 pages (screens). Anyone who is interested in it is advised to print it out and read it at their leisure.

There is a special reason for the Novena to St Philomena for the healing of autism. It is to do with my close association with autism. Several of my children and my late brother were born with autism, so on account of these circumstances, I started up the novena a few years ago.

There is now a priest of Lourdes France, who prays at the grotto each week for each person (who has autism), whose name has been sent to me for inclusion in the novena. The priest is doing this voluntarily. I greatly appreciate his contribution to the apostolate. I only need the first name of the person for the purpose of the novena.

Details of the novena are at: homestead.com/missionbell/novenaforautisticchildren.html

In regard to praying for abused children, it it a very good thing to pray for and I will include that in my prayers. I think that an apostolate like this should be undertaken by someone with a special leaning towards this, perhaps by knowing of some special circumstances. I have a prayer petition page for intentions of every kind.

I will pray for the special intentions that you mentioned.

She is still a saint. It’s not like Saint Peter threw her out of heaven. My understanding is that her feast day is just not celebrated by the world church anymore though it is still celebrated by certain parishes and regions. I love her. She is my confirmation Saint.

Weridly enough. My friend was talking to me at dinner and pulled out Saint Philomena cords for me. She said she was cleaning out her old room at her mom’s house and found them and remembered that i had told her she was my saint. Its werid because Laura had never even heard of St. Philomena so why would she has any cords from her?

My favorite topic! My husband is a lapsed catholic. We were married at the courthouse. When I was going through RCIA it was brought to my attention that our marriage was invalid because, as a catholic, he was to have married in the church. The marriage validity issue could have prevented me from receiving the sacraments. I had asked him a few times to have our marriage convalidated, and he had always said no. I started a novena to Saint Rita. Five days in, he comes to me out of the clear blue and says “Call Father and ask him what we need to do before I change my mind”. Not a great conversion, but we did marry in the church on St. Patrick’s Day last year.

That is great. I have been praying for my marriage, dh’s conversion. He is a Catholic and knows the Church inside out, but spiritually that is another story. I did the 15 Thursdays novena and have not seen any results yet. I know sometimes things take longer and so I will be patient. I have not found a novena to St. Rita as of yet, except this 15 Thursday one.

I don’t know if I have any miracles from St. Rita, but she is one of my favorites, being patron of both infertility and troubled marriages. Been through both of those, and she got a lot of prayers from me. I know she interceded, because now we are very happily married again, and have both bio and adopted kids. 😃

I have been unemployed for about 5 months now. After praying to Saint Rita daily for a new job, I recently received a job offer.
Thank you Saint Rita!

I have had a great love for St Rita for many years now, along with St Therese whose name I took as my confirmation name at age 11. It was years later that I discovered St Rita and she has been there for me through thick and thin. I call the two saints ‘my spiritual godmothers’ and it is only recently that I’ve discovered that the one thing we have in common are roses, which has been my favourite flower since a small child. I belong to St Rita’s Shrine in Devon, England and every year on her feast day they bless a multitude of roses and distribute them out to the crowds or mail them to those that belong to the shrine. You can either eat this roses over 9 days whilst saying a novena or just keep them.

Recently I was in great need of her help and in desparation I e-mailed the Abess of the Monastery where her body lies. They were so good to me and last week sent me a medal containing a small piece of brown cloth, a 10 decade rosary made of rosewood, which smells beautiful, along with the promise that they and the orphans would pray for my intentions.

I really love St Rita!

Thank you, St. Rita, for your intercession and help in obtaining a seemingly impossible court order.
During a divorce, the presumption is for 50/50 custody of the children, except in cases of domestic violence. Last month the fate of my children was in the hands of a court appointed mediator, who had to meet with us for one hour and decide who was telling the truth about our family history. Proving domestic violence can be an uphill battle if you don’t get beaten up in public and end up calling the police from the hospital.
I prayed the novena to St. Rita, patroness of the impossible, as I waited the two weeks to receive the report which would seal my children’s fate.
The report came back completely in my favor, with all sorts of protections and safeguards written in for me and the children; in addition, saying that all allegations against me were unfounded.
Many comments from other women who have had similar custody disputes have affirmed that, in my instance, this ruling was a rare exception. Praise be to God.

Yes,by the Powerful intercession of St.Rita,i and my children have been rescued from the hands of an abusive husband who after years of psychological and physical abuse, decided that am not worthy to live anymore and went on to carry out his threats in the most evil manner you can think of.

I and my children are safe and well today because of St.Rita’s powerful intercession.

By St.Rita’s powerful intercession,I got the best job and the best position in the best town I can think of in Ireland,In these times of economic recession and joblessness.Despite my years of joblessness and terrors from my husband and his cohorts.

I promised St.Rita to tell of these and her other miracles in my life to the world.

I am glad that the St Rita thread has lighted up again, because I am in the third day of a novena to her.

She came to my aid in two very difficult situations, and also cured someone that I know of being crippled (following a novena.)

I have written a book on answers to prayer. The stories come from myself, my family, friends, relatives and acquaintances. There are many stories of answers to prayer in it, and also poems, articles etc. (Many saints covered in the stories.)

There is one story about St Rita in the book, regarding a lady who has diabetes. I am always on the lookout for more stories and then I can upgrade the book; both the online version and the next print version. (This is an apostolate, not a commercial project.)

The link for the online version of the book is at:

Details of how to submit a possible story for the book are on the web page.

I recently completed a novena to St. Rita for a Catholic husband. I will let you know if this prayer gets answered. After reading everyone`s posts it makes me think I should start the novena again!

One priest last year told me to pray “Dear St. Ann, please send me a man.” LOL.

Sincerely,

Maria1212

The version that I heard was: Good St Ann, send me a man as quick as you can!

I don’t really need this prayer, because St Philomena got me a husband.

Here a link to the story about this:

In Belgium St Rita is known as the “Saint for difficult cases” so there is a great devotion for her. 25 years ago my wife, who was converted and still was single at that time, has prayed a lot for the intercession of St Rita to find a catholic husband. My own mother prayed daily to St Rita, specially for me to find a good catholic girl. We met each other and are now married for 23 years and have a very happy marriage. Thanks to St Rita!!!

:amen:
A timely reminder from Saint Rita
Two ladies from Australia traveled back to their home country of Belgium for a short holiday. In their days growing up in Belgium they had always enjoyed going to the annual tridium (three days of prayer) and festivities in honour of Saint Rita. During the holiday they were standing on the balcony of their hotel room, when a leaflet floated down and landed in front on them. They picked it up and were delighted to see that it was the program for the tridium. It had not even crossed their minds that it would be on at this time of the year. Saint Rita made sure that they did not miss out on attending her festivities.

I am currently praying a Novena to St. Rita to ask for acceptance, blessings and the money to travel to Medjugorje this September. A good friend suggested that I do this. I will let you know what happens!! 😉

By the way, I am ending the Novena on 5/22…St. Rita’s feast day! 👍

I’m currently praying to St. Rita as I just found out about her a few weeks ago. She is a very miraculous Saint! I’m praying to her along side St. Anthony as I lost something about 4 years ago that is very dear to me and though I did pray to St. Anthony at the time, my mind wasn’t concentrating (the loss brought on a great depression that I still get from time to time) I am hoping that with the help of St. Rita (and also Archangel Chamuel) this item can be safely returned to me as this can be impossible to get back.

All these stories have really gained my hope and faith that my prayer can be answered! I will keep you posted.

I like to credit St. Rita with having a hand in my joining the Catholic Church.

A couple of years ago my then-boyfriend’s (now husband) parents were going through a terrible divorce. He then fell on some ice and broke his leg. I was also struggling with my thoughts and feelings about being drawn to the Catholic Church. My boyfriend had just been told by his doctor that he may have to have a second surgery on his leg to re-break and re-set the bone. It was a pretty rough patch.

I told St. Rita: “I don’t know what I’m doing, I 've never talked to a saint. But if you could do something, pray for us, anything, to help my boyfriend and I, it would help. He needs help healing his leg and his heart is broken from his family falling apart. If there is anything you can do, I’m asking for help.”

The next day the doctor called and said he had taken another look at the x-rays and that my boyfriend would not need another surgery. He said his recovery was going well and right on track.

I took that as a sign and dove deeper in to learning about the Catholic faith. I joined the Church at Easter Vigil 2009 and could not be happier!

What a wonderful testimony.
