Please. I dont know what to to do. I am in tears and scared and need help telling my parents what I found.

If someone found something innapropriate about lets say a daughter, would you want to know? EVEN if you cant take it anymore?

I am so tempted to curse and scream and freak out. Pray for me. My poor parents dont deserve this. I dont know if i should tell them.

Are you a minor…is she a minor…is it life threatening…? Alot to consider first.

It is innapropriate. Very. Yes underage.

What is holding me back is i was guilty of this back then, I never sent them to anyone though. I was really dumb and confessed it and moved on.

I think this person, who is committing the same sin, is sharing them.

As a parent, yes, absolutely I would want to know! If you are discussing what I think you are then it would be vital that I know about it. Even though the parents will be upset, it’s better that they know so they can deal with it.

First, Maria, calm down. You do no good by being hysterical.
If your sister (I am assuming it is your sister; if not, please correct me) is taking nude photos of herself and sending them to people (which, reading between the lines of yours post, I think you are saying she is), then you need to talk to your parents. She thinks it is no big deal, but she has no clue where those photos end up and who has perverted intentions towards her because of them.
When you have calmed down, go to your mother and tell her that you have something very difficult to tell her and you need to speak with her in private. Then let her know what you have found and how you found out about it.
Do not let your guilt over your own previous poor choices stop you from helping your sister. If you have not done so already, take your own sins to confession, believe that you are absolved when the priest grants absolution, and leave the past in the past. Also, on a more practical note, if you have not done so already, delete every last photo of yourself from your phone/ipad/ipod/computer/wherever you stored them.

Your parents have to be told. This isn’t just a poor choice that she could grow out of. This is a SERIOUS safety issue. If even one of these pictures (since I’m assuming like PP that your sister is taking nude pics and sending them out), gets onto the internet, it’s there, forever. And she needs to be protected from the sexual predators that are out there, and will find her.

As well, since she is underage, ANYONE who has one of these pictures is guilty of possessing child pornography. This isn’t a joke. It’s a major crime.

Like PP said. You need to take one of your parents aside, and tell them what you found out and how, along with your suspicions. Your sister might become angry with you right now, but you are protecting her from something far worse, which is your duty as her sibling. Even if you found these pictures by means of which you are less than proud (snooping in her phone, reading her diary, what have you) you should still take it to your parents.

This is a big deal, and you should tell your parents, just like you would if you found out she was doing drugs or having sex.

Thanks everyone. I calmed down, I dont really want to say much. This is embarrassing for me to say it here, but I deserve this for hurting the Lord.

No they are not nude. Just not modest. Sorry Its all I can say. 😦
It already ruined the day for me. Im being rude and I need to relax. I dont want to ruin Fathers Day for my fam. As for tomorrow…

I am relieved to know that they are not nude photos. It is bad enough that she is taking otherwise inappropriate photos of herself, but it is a bit of a relief that she has not gone totally over the line. You are a good sister for wanting to protect her, even it means she gets angry at you. What a blessing that is. Please, do not look at it as ruining the day; you are not ruining anything other than possibly a descent by your sister into a dark place.

Maria, I also, as a mother, would want to know if my child is doing something that is wrong or dangerous to herself or others.
It may greatly distress your parents and anger your sister? but that isn’t your fault.
It isn’t your doing. You are trying to save your sister? and it is for the parents to try to do that.

We parents, many of us, do go through a lot regarding our children, but we’d be awfully upset if something serious was happening and another child who knew it failed to inform us.
If there is a lot of emotional fallout, please don’t blame yourself. You will have done the right thing. The bible tells us in Matthew 18 verses 15-16
“If your brother or sister] sins, go and point out their fault, just between the two of you. If they listen to you, you have won them over. But if they will not listen…" then you need to tell others who are responsible.

Lord please help Maria to find rest and peace, and wisdom.
Please give her sister ? the graces she need, and help her parents to respond with wisdom, love, and strength in all that relates to their children

i would wait until tomorrow and try to address the situation with your sibling.

if they don’t listen, tell them you’ll tell your parents.

if that doesn’t work, go to your parents in a relaxed, reasonable way and explain what’s happening to them.

i used to face situations with my younger brother like this and i just dealt with him privately and it worked out ok. he would listen to me.

and he didn’t want our parents to know either so that helped.

Shes done other things. Not of the same nature, but grave nonetheless. She has seen my mother in tears and father very upset…yet it still wasnt moving.
This is something I cannot talk about just me an her.

If hurts to see the expression on my mothers face when I tell her. She has been trying hard to discipline her in a loving way. And it just goes in one ear and out the other and it angers me so much.

I will tell my mom tomorrow. For now I will keep an eye out on her.

Just my 2 cents. As a mother, I would definitely want to know something serious could be going on. Don’t be afraid of telling your mother or that she will be emotional/sad/angry, etc. As mothers, we need to be able to handle any of these situations with The Lord’s guidance and intercession of our Blessed Lady. Trust in the Lord and pray to the holy spirit to give you the wisdom and courage to discuss this matter with your mother. One of the spiritual works of mercy is to admonish the sinner. We are called to not be afraid of others and to stand up for the truth in a gently and compassionate manner. Our goal is to get everyone in heaven and the only way is to get them back in the right path is through prayer and action

Blessings,

I wish someone had giving me that kind of information when one of our daughters was doing similar things. It would have given me information that could have forestalled a lot of pain for several people in the family. If she doesn’t stop, it will just escalate into who knows what? At least your folks will have a better idea of what is going on, which means they have more background to use to try to help.

Keeping secrets does not help anyone. Yes, tell your parents, in a calm way. I would advise you to go first to them and not to your sister since she will only resent your “ratting” on her. But do not let her reaction dictate what you do or don’t do. Give your parents the information and let them handle it.

Ill tell my mother tomorrow after work. I feel anxiety fluctuating.

I don’t want to be the bearer of bad news:crying:

Even if you’re 30, it never hurts to find another adult to help you take courage. Consider who you might talk to…your pastor is not likely to fly off the handle or disclose your concern to anyone else, but you may also know a family member or practically-family member who would fit the bill, maybe a godparent or a neighbor, someone you trust. Obviously, though, since you are able to confess this kind of thing, it is the kind of thing you can at least talk to a priest about.

There is no one who can help me with that.

They seemed so happy today. It kills me inside if i have to see my mother cry about what my sibling has done. I love my sibling and my family. But I must tell my mom. I am so conflicting with emotions. I dont wanna be a drama queen. My mom is a very spiritual and amazing woman who talks to my sibling, but I thank the Lord I found this out before it got out of hand, and he openned our eyes once again that there is still work to be done.

I get so angry that I want to Curse satan out. But then he would be winning causing me to fall into my habitual sin, curse words.
Vile snake.
