Hi i just curious to know if anybody here in the forum were converted from Muslim to Christian?? What is the reason for your convert??

The reason why i shared was becoz lately we have another new muslim to our Christian family, which i am so so happy about it

I have seen a few off and on, but I’m not sure whether they are currently posting. The latest, I believe, was murtad.

All of these will be helpful. They are out there. But they live in fear of their lives.
This is very true. Once I started talking to somebody on instant messenger who was a Christian in Pakistan. He was very cautious at first, and kept asking me to tell him things about myself. He was especially concerned about making sure I was not a Muslim. On other message boards, Christians in Muslim countries tell me in private that they don’t even want to publicly disclose which country they’re in!

Peace unto you & all believers 🙂

I am a convert to Christianity (Eastern Orthodox) from Islam. Actually, I had been a devout Muslim practicing daily prayers five times a day and fasting for the whole month of Ramadan until I decided to convert and started going to church in 1994. I received baptism in 1997, now I am a 9-year-old child! I haven’t got a very interesting story of conversion (like Paul’s) , but what I am now is solely by God’s grace. If you have further questions about my reasons for choosing Christ and preferring the Good News to Quran, put them forward. I’ll try to answer them step by step . 😉

“In the early days of my conversion, most Muslim friends and relatives of mine pitied me for being deceived by priests to believe in a totally corrupted scripture! This was my response: If you suppose I have been deceived, good, praise the Lord, being sure that I have been deceived by the only truth whereas you have been justified and saved by a lie!”

Wow. Bless you, Angelos. It’s always so powerful to hear the stories of converts from Islam because we all know you risked so much.

Welcome Angelos. Your very presence shows that some Muslims do become Christian.

Those Muslims converting to Christianity need to keep this secret less the religion of peace and tolerance gets wind of it and passed the death sentence on that convert.

I will get in my take on this before one of the warrior Mohammedans like Pro_Universalcomes in here and devours the thread.

I have a very good friend whose family are Muslims from a Middle Eastern country I should probably not mention. He himself was born in the Middle East and spent a great deal of his life there, though he now lives in the U.S. His conversion to Catholicism (in this country) was, by his telling of it, motivated by the contrast between the sincere belief among Catholics he knew and the utter indifference to Islam (despite public practice) he witnessed among his huge and prestigious extended family in the Middle East. Obviously, I cannot even post the family name here, for their safety. Islam tolerates widespread religious indifference, but it does not tolerate admission to indifference.

That is only one story, but it has led me to believe the enforcement of Islam by oppression and violence in Islamic countries underlies a profound weakness in Islam that only force, aided by ignorance, can contain. I have come to believe it is so profound that if real religious freedom (including freedom to give and receive religious information and freedom to convert) was allowed in Islamic countries, Christianity would sweep through them like a prairie fire. I know that sounds like an odd thing to say, but if you heard and read what I have heard and read, you wouldn’t doubt it.

Yup i can understand for those Muslim convert staying in Muslim dorminated countries. However those muslim staying in my country are rather bless in a way that there won’t face judgement from their community like death sentence thus they can walk in and out of the church without any fear of being killed…but bless all those muslim convert for God open their heart to experience his power!!! Amen Amen.

Angelos, what was the reason of conversion? comparing scriptures, or comparing Muhammad to Jesus, or a vision or what?
and welcome in Christ 👍

PS: i think THEKING said he/she was Muslim.

we have a Catholic priest whom am sure will become a Saint on day (God willing). i heard some Muslims call him when he has live programs on TV and ask him to baptize them. They knew Jesus because of him.❤️

Peace & blessings to everyone

inJesus, this question has so many answers the full meaning of which I have gradually comprehended. First, I started to have many doubts concerning some verses in the Quran and failed to get satisfactory answers from the experts of the Islamic scripture. The more I questioned basic tenets of Islam, the further I got away from Mohammed and his religion. What bothered me most was that Allah was believed to send His books to four major prophets, but two of these books were distorted (The Law & Gospel), and one got lost (the Book of Psalms)! Even though there was not a single verse in the Quran to support the distortion theory, all Muslim scholars and commentators made up stories that aimed to prevent Muslims even from touching the Bible. In my opinion, the same God of the Old & New Testament would never deprive His believers of Hİs eternal truth by letting some wicked scribes or clerics replace His holy word with human lies! When I read about the Christian view on the Judaic scripture, I was surprised to see that Christianity never resorted to the distortion theory. Besides, when I got my first Gospel to compare it with the Quran, I found a totally different form of Scripture. In contrast to Quran, which included the stories and testimonies of various prophets, the Gospels focused on Jesus! The evangelists did not need to repeat most of the stories in the Old Testament since Jesus endorsed the Old Testament as the authoritative and immutable word of God. Quran, on the other hand, retold many stories in the Old and New Testament in order to correct many so-called mistakes and point at the deviations from the truth! In short, Islam taught that revelations had been consigned to humanity only for a short time until the advent of Islam. Thus, God’s message was hidden or distorted and the process of establishing the only true faith (Islam) in the world was recurrently disrupted.

When I was a student at secondary schools, I mostly annoyed my professor of religion with my objections to his assertions about the Christian scripture. I remember very well once he said
“ on the first page of the Gospel is written that Joseph is Jesus’ father although they claim God is Jesus’ father. You see they have so many contradictory tenets” (later I realized that he was referring to Joseph’s genealogy in Matthew’s Gospel!). I responded “ we should ask Christians about their Scripture, they must have a valid reason for that verse in the Gospel”.😃 Again, each time they hammered into our brain that the Nicene Council convened to choose the canonical Gospels and burn thousands of others that were the evidence of textual corruption, I raised my hand and asked “How come the people at the council chose four Gospels, but not one? Why did they not think of changing the names of the evangelists (why Mark and Luke rather than two of the 12 apostles?) or of basing the reliability of the Gospels on Jesus’ dictation?

When I was a practicing Muslim, I recited certain chapters from the Quran. Interestingly, I delighted in reading about Jesus and Mary and memorized some verses of chapter 3 and 19 as a natural result of reading them over and over. Jesus and His life fascinated me more than the stories of the other religious figures. The story of His conception, His birth and infancy, His prophetic mission, His apostles, and passion and resurrection (in short, from the womb to the tomb) indicated simplicity mixed with faith and mystery. I am proud of my faith and my LORD. I pray that I keep growing in faith, hope, and love till the day of my second meeting with the Prince of Life upon the clouds. Blessed be His name forever. ❤️

WOW!!! I must remember to use this Quotation. Very profound. Bless you Angelos.

i am also a converted christian from islam.but there are many reasons so i can’t explain in brief.but i just can say that i belive that islam is an inhuman religion.it taught violence and killing.and in my childhood i always abused by islamic law though i am a male.now when i read gospels then i think that christ is the true god&way.so i became mentally christian.but for my life risk i can’t reveal myself now.&i told it in many posts.thank you.

dear new_one,my problem is same to you.but here in CAF i have asked an honorable apologist mr. Fr. Vincent Serpa &he replied me that when i belive jesus as my god then i became christian.its called baptism by desire&if i will die before taking sacrament then i will go to heaven for my baptism by desire.but my baptism is still required.so when i will get a chance i have to baptize.i think your case is same.but you can ask him again if you want

My family and I were practicing Muslims for quite a while and, currently, are in the process of formally joined the Catholic Church. In answer to your question, I cannot only speak for myself (as opposed to my wife).

I can summarize my reasons to convert, briefly.
The Catholic faith is reasonable. More specifically, faith, that is known by revelation, is NOT incompatible with reason, that is engaged through the senses. Islam, on the other hand, presents God as pure will. God, in Islam, can never truly be known. He is Other. Consequently, an orthodox Sunni Muslim cannot say that faith is reasonable. For example, one can ask if alcohol consumption is essentially immoral or is the abuse of alcohol. Ultimately, a Muslim must insist that ANY alcohol comsumption is immoral, because God said so. This approach, which was solidified in the 14 century, locks Sunni Islam into legalism. Alcohol is forbidden in Islam because it potentially causes one to ask inappropriately. On this basis, soft drinks (or automobiles, etc) should be forbidden due to potential health risks. Sunni Islam turns out to be Divine legal positivism.

This is the single largest factor for me. Basically, the Catholic world view is consistent and clear, despite those Catholics who openly dissent. This leads me to the largest stumbling block to Catholicism for me…Catholics

Hi eichenb2! I am happy to hear that you are still in the process of converting! 👍 I haven’t forgotten you (and the struggles you were having) and I am still praying for you and your family! May God bless you! :signofcross:
