Hello all,

Before I start my post I would first like to say that this is not a thread meant to start an argument or for people to try and change my point of view. I am what I am and am just looking for others that might be out there either lurking or posting on this forum.

I have been unable to attend a Latin Mass for about 6 years now:( due to where my family and I have been living. Formally I had the privilege of attending St. Gertrude the Great in Cincinnati. Right now my family and I are contemplating leaving where we are now and moving somewhere with a good traditional church with a priest who holds the same beliefs as Fr. Cekada, Bps. Dolan and Sanborn. I would just consider moving back to Cincy, but my husband would prefer a warmer climate. I have checked the list of traditional chapels on Traditio.com and am finding that some of the chapels that list themselves as independants have priests that seem to be courting the SSPX or the Vatican.

Can any of you sedevacantists out there help me? Any good chapels in some warmer locales?? I would appreciate any help you could give me…right now I am spending hours online trying to investigate priests and their belief systems so I thought it was time to seek out some help! If the chapels have schools that would be even better. Right now we’re homeschooling, but would love to give my child a nice traditional solid Catholic education.

If you would prefer to send me a private message I will understand…again any advice right now would be most helpful (except trying to change my beliefs of course 😃 )

Thanks,

Nope, not a joke. And I think I will pass on that recanting. I posted this on the ‘traditional’ section of the site, but I can see traditional to you folks means something entirely different than what it means to me…

Trad One, yes, we mean something a little different here. This is a website affiliated with a Catholic apologetics group that believes God would not leave his Church in the lurch. I doubt you will get much of a positive response here from other sedes, but always feel free to ask and to read on!

Welcome!

Well, finding a place to school your children in a traditional catholic manner is literally non-existant. God Bless you for home schooling your children! I am not sure of a good place to look, although there are a large amount of FSSP and SSPX parishes in Georgia. Other than that I dont really know, there are a few resources out there but not many.

Sedevacantism is an impossibility, and can never be traditional in any sense of the word.

What do you mean by “a priest who holds the same beliefs as Fr. Cekada, Bps. Dolan and Sanborn”? Are you looking only for a sedevacantist priest who agrees with all the teachings of these men? As you probably know, there are a number of “varieties” of sedevacantists, and Cekada, Dolan, and Sanborn were once part of a larger sedevacantist group (SSPV) that splintered due to diferences.

While there are a few sedevacantists on this forum, the vast majority are not. Sedevacantism is often debated here (try searching under the term for some recent, rather heated debates), but it seems you don’t wish to get into a debate about it. So, welcome to the forum. Hopefully you will still find it helpful and informative, even if your current question isn’t answered very well.

Bishop Donald J. Sanborn is in Brooksville, FL at the Queen of All Saints Chapel and I believe there is a school associated with the parish.

Hope this is helpful.

Thomas

How many qualifies as a large amount? One of each.
Yes actually. I think, as most places, that is quite blessed. Ive always had to drive at least an hour for latin mass let along such large vibrant parishes is exciting, if that answers your sarcasm.

Traditional One,
You might not want to openly proclaim that you are a Sedevacantist on this forum if you want to stay. Most Sedevacantists are eventually banned.

Thomas.

Sedevacantists are not banned merely for identifying themselves as sedevacantists. The Catholic Answers Forums are open to Catholics and non-Catholics of all levels of commitment to and/or interest in the Catholic Church, so long as they behave courteously toward each other and so long as they treat the Catholic Church politely (even when they personally disagree with what it teaches).

So long as this thread does not disintegrate into yet another sedevacantism debate, I’ll leave it open for the time being so that members may respond to the OP’s specific question. If the thread turns into a sedevacantism debate or if the charity level drops, the thread will be closed.

Thanks for your understanding and cooperation.

Hello,
Code:
As for the warmer climates, I know of Fr Miller, OFM, down in Louisiana. I will try to find more info to relay to you.

I was fortunate to finally visit St Gertrude's this past July. Was able to get to several weekday Masses and visit with friends. Hope to go by again this year.
Talk later.

Joe

Well, I certainly hope you are attending Mass SOMEWHERE every Sunday, that obligation still holds for you if you are Catholic, regardless of what you personally feel about the Church. Sunday attendance is not an option. But I’m sure I don’t need to tell you that. 😉

Impossible? The seat was last vacant from April 2, 2005 to April 19, 2005.
The seat can be absent for a period of time, but this is not the essence of the argument put forth or the position held by Sedevacantists.

You’ve come to the wrong place for help maintaining the practice of your faith. Sedevacantists are often times insulted and disrespected on this forum. Many Catholics don’t like sedevancantists. Your religious beliefs are disgusting to them and they don’t have a problem letting you know that. It would be like going to a Calvinist forum and asking where there is a good catholic church.

I wouldn’t know where to find a sedevacantist chapel. Good luck.

They could always move to Holy Family Monastery.
