I have a great devotion to Bl. Fr. Seelos. I was just curious to see if anyone else on the fourms here ever heard of him or have devotion to him. If you have not heard of him, I reccomend that you read about him at www.seelos.org. Just curious…

I went to St. Mary’s in New Orleans and got a first class relic of him there.

It’s a beautiful church!!! I also have a first class relic of Fr. Seelos that I keep on my little home altar

I’ve heard of him, too!

I first read about him in a book called 'Sanctity in America". I think it was by Fr. John Wynne, a Jesuit.

Had to laugh when I saw the word ‘seelosians’…thought it was the name of another RadTrad group……just kidding…

I thought he was trying to say “Salesians”.

Nope, Blessed Father Francis Xavier Seelos. St. Alphonsus/St. Mary were my mother’s family church in New Orleans - as in my Irish family helped build St. Alphonsus against my German family helping to build St. Mary’s.

I’ve known about Fr. Seelos all my life. When my grandmother was on her deathbed in 1965, a Redemptorist priest came to her house in the Irish Channel in New Orleans for the sacrament of Extreme Unction. My brother and I assisted and Father gave me a Holy Card of Fr. Seelos (which I have to this day) in my 1962 MIssal. My brother and I served at my grandmother’s Requiem Mass at St. Alphonsus in January of 1965.

I am happy to report that my parish, St. Joseph Cathedral Parish, in Baton Rouge has a first class relic of Bl. Fr. Seelos and holds a Blessing of the Sick ceremony once a month.

I hope I live long enough to witness Blessed Fr. Seelos elevated to sainthood. My great great grandmother knew him (it was in her obituary). I’ve grown up praying for Fr. Seelos and I will continue to do so.

Hey I’m in the third largest parish of our diocese. St. John the Evangelist!!! I have a first class relic from when I went visit at the shrine.

I recently saw a show on EWTN about Bl. Father Francis Xaiver Seelos. I have started to pray for his intercession.

I would love to have a relic, but have no idea how to get one.

It is interesting that he was mentioned here as before last month I had never heard of him before. I learn a lot here on the forums.

Wow BrotherRolf-your great-grandmother knew Blessed Seelos? Seriously cool…

I remember when Mother Angelica had her first stroke. EWTN requested that viewers pray to him for her cure…

Hello fellow Louisianian…I am very much aware of Fr. Seelos and the devotion to him…and I am in full support 👍
