Any Padre Pio spiritual children here? I have a question

Hello 🙂

I’ve become very fond of St. Padre Pio; reading about his life and watching anything I can find on him. I want to become his spiritual child and I’ve found a few prayers to become one…but my question is how can I know if he’s accepted me as his spiritual child? Thanks for your time. God bless!
 
You just are.
He desires for all to be united to Christ through his intercession.
 
And if you are in the US, he said he would accept all Americans as his spiritual children. I too read all I can about him, and have asked that he consider me one of his American children.

The Monastry at San Giovanni accepts people as Spiritual Children of padre Pio, if you send a written letter by post to the head abbot of San Giovanni Capuchin Friary in Italy, and write on the letter that you request to be enrolled as a spiritual child of Padre Pio, writing your full name and current full address. Also include 10 USD as a donation (or the equivalent in your own currency).

You will receive in the post a few weeks later a printed certificate of your enrolment as Padre Pio’s spiritual child, an explanation of the obligations to live a good life and what spiritual benefits of the prayers masses etc… being said at the Shrine , and also you will receive a few Padre Pio prayer leaflets, photos and little third class relics.

It’s really lovely. And I would really recommended officially being enrolled through St Padre Pio’s Monastry this way.

Also, you can write any prayer requests you have and they will pray for these at st padre Pio’s tomb, for you.

How to become Padre Pio’s spiritual child

Application should be made in writing.

Father Superior,
Our Lady of Grace Capuchin Friary

With the written request letter as specified above with the 10 dollar donation.

Padre Pio, during his lifetime, accepted many people as his spiritual children. When assured of their goodwill, he always told them: “I accept you, but don’t make me lose face.” Today many of his devotees still want to become his spiritual children. The letter process above requesting enrolment through San Giovanni is mentioned above.

Also They must comply with the following conditions:
  1. Live intensely a life of divine grace
  2. Prove their faith by words and actions
  3. Desire to remain under the protection of the Servant of God, Padre Pio
  4. Imitate the venerable Padre in his love for Jesus Crucified, for the Most Blessed Sacrament, for our Lady, the Pope and the entire Church
  5. Practice sincere charity towards all
Padre Pio’s Own words about his spiritual children;
“I have made a pact with the Lord: I will take my place at the gate to paradise,
but I shall not enter until I have seen the last of my spiritual children enter.”

When the Lord entrusts a soul to me, I place it on my shoulder and never let it go."

“I see all my children who come to the altar, as if in a mirror.”
“I love my Spiritual Children as much as my own soul and even more.”
“Once I take a soul on, I also take on their entire family as my spiritual children.”

“Woe to those who lay a hand on my spiritual children.”
“To my Spiritual Children: my prayers for you will never be lacking”
“If one of my spiritual children ever goes astray, I shall leave my flock and seek him out.”

I am so glad I found this thread! I love Saint Pio and asked him about a week ago if I could become one of his spiritual children. I am trying to live up to the guidelines he set out, always asking him to pray for me before Our Lord. I go to Mass as often as possible, go to confession weekly, pray the rosary at least 1-2 times a day, and offer up any sufferings I may have to God.

Anyone else here have a special devotion to St. Pio?

I am sure he heard you and he may already accept you. I came to this not too long ago and started to pray. I did not expect him to come to me in my dream and he showed me how to say Father, Son and Holy Spirit then do rosary. I was shocked by his heavenly visiting in my dream. He came to me one more time. I am truly blessed by his visit and showed me how to say it properly. Enjoy him, he is around us. 😉
 
I love St Padre Pio! Thank you for starting this thread because for a while now I’ve been interested in ‘officially’ becoming his spiritual child but I keep forgetting 😦 I want to do this soon. I have asked St Padre Pio in prayers several time to be his spiritual child. For some reason i really want this and St Padre Pio obtained certain graces for me as I believe. I also saw him in a dream once and I wonder sometimes if it could have been more than a dream. It was so peaceful.
 
For anyone who has done this, or knows, how do we send the money? Money order (to who?), cheque, cash? I’m a bit worried of cash getting lost… Thanks!
