Going in for some biopsies tomorrow… Everything “indicates cancer” at this point but I know that doctors can make mistakes. Any prayers are greatly appreciated though. I’m not too up-tight about this but I also believe in the power of prayer. In other words, it can’t hurt. Ain’t none of us getting out of here alive… Everything is by God’s will, so I’ll be OK either way.

Well… a lot of stitches… wasn’t too bad, pain wise… won’t know about biopsy results for 7-10 days, which is kind of odd. I had to put a dog down a few years back and the Vet did a biopsy and within a matter of minutes, told me that my dog had cancer. Let’s see, dog cancer… 5 minutes, human cancer, 7-10 days. I don’t get it. Thanks for the prayers.

It’s frustrating, I know. What I was told is that they send the biopsy to the lab where it might be in line behind other biopsies, and take a day or so to get to. If it’s cancerous, then they sometimes do a second round of tests to analyze the cells for genetic markers to identify the exact type of cancer, because use some respond to one kind of treatment and some to another and then you don’t need a second biopsy. But this testing itself takes a few days. THEN they send the results, sometimes right to your doctor, but sometimes to a specialist to confirm before your doctor gets them.

I don’t know if this is the same all the time, but you can see how easily a week or more can be used doing this, including week-ends.
