My pastor is in several of the photos taken at North American Martyrs Church. I think this was when he was learning to celebrate the Traditional Latin Mass. He is holding Archbishop Brunette’s cope in two of the photos, and standing next to him under the canopy (Left side of photo) in another photo.
Thanks for the pics, Zab. That was a wonderful Mass, wasn’t it? It was my first at NAM, and I was so thrilled to hear the Mass of my youth.😃

So, where’s your parish?

I wish I could find a close by EF Mass or one celebrated by a society approved by the Holy See. I have to travel a good distance, but I can only afford to do so 1 or 2 times a month due to the high gas prices.

As a younger person, I am loving the fact I am learning a lot from the EF Mass and appreciating the ways my parents and others worshipped as I grew up only knowing the OF Mass.

Hey Zab,

Your pastor used to be my parents’ pastor in Camas, WA. He did a lot of great things there. Replaced these horrid wooden statues without faces with ornate lovely images. A crucifix with our Lord suffering. All boys on the altar. A lot more. His mark is still left on the parish from what I can tell.

Mom showed me how willing he was to say the Extraordinary Form when the Motu was published. The parish bulletin announced the Tridentine Rite for I think the Feast of All Souls with encouragement that if anyone liked it to let him know, he would be glad to oblige with more.

God bless your good pastor, Zab. Maybe he’ll be our bishop one of these days!
