I have two children, a daughter who is almost 4 and a son who is almost 2. Honestly, I have been lacking in teaching my daughter about our faith. I don’t really know how to go about explaining mass and other questions she may have.

My kids will be attending public school when they are old enough, and I don’t like the fact that they will be missing out on religion class from Catholic school. (I attended a Catholic elementary school). Do you know if there are any resources to teach my children about the faith? Is there any way to get books that a Catholic school would use in religion classes so I could do some homeschooling religion classes?

I would appreciate any links, tips, advice, etc. from parents who have any to offer.

Thank you for your help. Have a blessed day.🙂

Our Sunday Visitor publishing has great resources for parents in general, and specifically pre-school programs great for introducing kids to basics of the faith. when they reach kinder or first grade most parishes require you to register them at least in sacramental preparation classes, even if they are getting (as they should) most of their religious education at home. Congratulations, I hope you influence your friends to do the same.

Loyola Press has a number of wonderful parent/family resources. We use their Finding God materials for Faith Formation. Their findinggod.org site has good stuff - and does not expect you to have a degree in theology or Catholic studies.
