Any resources on the destruction of the Jerusalem temple 70 AD?

Hi I need to cover this topic in the next R.C.I.A meeting and we are going to talk about the destruction of the Jerusalem Temple in 70 AD, which Jesus talks about in Mathew 24. I was wondering if anyone knew much about this topic or knew an article that I can use to cover this material?

I know there are several passages in scripture such as Jesus stating that he will destroy the temple and in three days raise it up and such but that is about it.

Of course, the primary source for what we know about the destruction of the Second Temple comes from the Jewish historian Josephus. I know you don’t have time for it before your next RCIA session, but if you really want to get a terrific treatment of this I HIGHLY recommend the following CD series by Steve Wood where he treats this topic in fascinating depth:

Josephus’ original recounting the events surrounding the destruction of the Temple make for fascinating reading in itself, but the OP was looking for quick resources that he can use for an upcoming RCIA session. Just reading the account (and I recommend doing that too, of course), interesting and informative as it is, does not give you any context that you can meaningfully share with an RCIA class, with it’s limited time and scope. They need to know how it relates to the Faith.
