Any one here do much running?
Not nearly as much as I used to do. More is done afterward.Just wondering about this, but I’ve learned that it is no longer considered necessary or beneficial to stretch before running. So do any of the runners participating in this thread still stretch?
I was never very good at stretching, so I should be glad at this development; nevertheless, it was a familiar ritual for many years.tomarin:

My pace is very slow too!Jog is probably more accurate. 3 times a week.
‘S’ okay. I’ve always felt it’s about competing against yourself, not others, and making gradual progress in getting fitter.I usually walk for about 5 minutes before and after running. (always run outside) After I run I do a yoga pose ‘legs up the wall’ if convenient, at the gym I mean, 10 mins - I love that. I do yoga or bike on non-run days. I don’t stretch before or after runs. Never had injuries. But I only do 3 mile runs and I go slow - to prevent injury. I am not super driven about it, never have been. To be honest my heart doesn’t even pound - except for uphill. I would be embarrassed to post my speed.
Could it be Katy Decker? What is the difference between jogging and running? ; )
I am running long distance about 3 to 4 days per week. Hope to get in better shape! The alternating days I’m hoping to do more middle distance on the track and what not.
My knees start to hurt if I do distance every day, it seems. My goal is to get back to 8 minute miles for 5 miles or so. That would be an accomplishment for me.
Name this runner!

@MrZoom, that’s great!I ‘run’ in my wheelchair. Have done a few 5K races since 2013 and have another one coming up next month.
This is the second straight year I will be doing the Pittsburgh Steelwheelers / WPTLA 5K, to support my old basketball team. Last year was kind of messed up - the course was supposed to be along the Pittsburgh riverfront trail near the Steelers’ and Pirates’ stadiums, but we found out on the morning of the race that we had to take a detour - involving significant hills/ramps - due to closure of part of the trail. The result was my worst 5K time, over 49 minutes. This year they’ve moved to a new location in North Park, north of the city. Hoping for a better result this time.MrZoom:
