It’s become my everyday life to pray the rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary (which I had started from doing one just once in a while). It gives me such a profound state of tranquility of the mind I had never known from other prayers ( well, I am also devoted to the Chaplet of Divine Mercy).

I’m thinking about getting into a deeper devotion to Mother Mary through other prayers. Are there any such? In the beginning I used to stay away from “long” prayers (like the rosary). Even if I sometimes struggle to concentrate, the longer format of prayers have become my favourite. Please let me know of some Marian devotional prayers in the long(er) type/format/version.

God Bless!!!

( Googled it but I’d appreciate if my fellow Catholics could throw some light on this here)

You might consider the Seven Sorrows chaplet, or Servite Rosary, prayed on a special type of Rosary. Very powerful.
There are many litanies and devotions to Mary. I like the Miraculous Medal devotion.

There is a Our Lady of Seven Sorrows version, and they even make seven-station “rosaries” for it.
Lol! I got ninja-posted.

Here’s a version of the Seven Sorrows without the “rosary”: ~ The Seven Sorrows Devotion ~

@po18guy Indeed!!! I’m happy that there are so many . I’m looking into each and every one suggested here.

Well, you can get deep devotion with Rosary, longer prayer doesn’t always mean deeper devotion.
Here is one very special 54 day novena:

It’s a good exercise because it forces you to pray the same way every day and Rosary is always a beautiful way to ask God for something or to thank Him, or to go into deeper love for Jesus.
I love history of it ( I only heard for version of 15 decades but 5 is also fine).
God bless you!

@Inbonum True. Long(er) prayers doesn’t necessarily indicate (or help in) deeper devotion. But I’m someone who rather enjoys long messages, long-deep conversations (with the right person), and that means, I’m more into long prayers. They give my mind a unique feeling of peace. Hence, this.

😊

The Orthodox have a version of the rosary, The Rule of the Mother of God of Saint Seraphim of Sarov. It starts with different prayers than the rosary (the Trisagion) and has a different focus for each decade, such as the first decade being about the birth of the Blessed Mother with the prayer: “Let us remember the birth of the Mother of God. Let us pray for mothers, fathers, and children”.

It would be ore accurate tor call the Rosary a version of that much older Rule . . .

Also, look at the Akathist to the Theotokos–I assume that there’s a variant that’s not set for liturgical use.

Yeah, I oversimplified it. The Rule is much older. I use one that was published online. The opening prayers in my version are rather short. It begins with “In the Name of the Father…”, has the prayer “O come let us worship God our King…” (don’t know the name of that prayer), and ends with “O Lord, open my lips, and my mouth shall proclaim Your praise”. There are of course, several prayers in between, including the Our Father and the Nicene Creed.

Both of those quotes are kind of persistent in Byzantine worship . . .

OK, these young men from Tonga bring tears when I listen to their song of devotion to the Blessed Virgin. I have turned it into a prayer.
