Just wondering how people pray and how they heed the call to ‘pray unceasingly’.
I never feel as if I’m praying right!
Should you say the Rosary every day? Should you say certain prayers at certain times every day… like have a routine?
I want to feel like I’m giving God the best of my time… how do I feel that I have prayed properly??? Just thinking and talking to God in my own mind when I am working… is this enough?
Peoples opinions and advice would be muchly appreciated!

I love to pray the scriptural rosary and have found that by putting myself into each mystery as if I really was next to Mary, I come away with more questions, more answers and more love for Jesus.

I also read the Bible, and use devotionals, small prayer books. My most favorite way to pray though is in front of Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament. Besides receiving Him at Mass, this is one of the most powerful forms of prayer because I am with Him, one on one and we talk one on one. Its the ULTIMATE prayer on earth!

Whatever you feel is enough is enough. 🙂 Prayer is a personal thing, and thank God with the gift of the Catholic and universal Church, you have a variety and array of prayer, from the Rosary, to the various chaplets, from the Liturgy of the Hours to the chotki and the Jesus prayer. You can pray through the bible using Lectio Divina or if you feel ready, Divine Contemplation. If you want to go charismatic, there is Charismatic form of prayer at your local parish if they have a Charismatic group. From litanies, to the prayer of the Mass, there is no end to prayer life for a Catholic.

You can make a schedule of what to pray. You can dedicate your work to God, and your work is your prayer. You can pray with other Christians for a more ecumenical approach, or pray with Catholics for a community. Just offer it to God, and go through it with Him. And of course, never worry. I myself even burn incense as I pray the rosary at my altar at home, to offer my prayers like incense before His blessed feet!

But seek ye first the kingdom of God and his justice, and all these things shall be added unto you.

Luke 12:31

prayer the morning offering with an Our Father, if you do not do LOTH, in which you consecrate the whole day to God, in that way everything you do is a prayer, and it helps you resist temptations as you recall this consecration. Pray before each meal, and at the natural pauses in the day that are transitions from one activity to another, i.e. after school, before baseball practice or band concert etc. Pray at bedtime: recall the events of the day, ask for enlightenment, give thanks for the day, ask forgiveness for any sins that come to mind, make a resolution for tomorrow, make an act of contrition and pray the our Father and Hail Mary.

Your day will me immeasurable richer if you make time for LOTH, the rosary, and some time with the bible, especially the Mass readings of the day or this Sunday’s gospel.
