Any traditional Catholics in Orlando, FL!?

Are there any traditional Catholics here from Orlando, FL? I’ve looked tirelessly through the internet for any sign of life but have found no groups clamoring for the EF in Orlando. Currently there is no EF mass celebrated in Orlando proper, the three which are celebrated in the Orlando Diocese are all over 30 minutes from Orlando (Sanford, Ocala and Lake Wales). Interestingly enough there is a “traditionalist” parish here that seems pretty active (Sacred Heart Traditional Catholic Church). I’ve been seriously tempted to go as I have found no OF in my area that is celebrated well. If anyone knows of any group trying to bring a sanctioned EF mass to town, please tell me, I would gladly join your efforts.
 
You would consider going to Mass celebrated by a priest and a group not in good standing with the Church, just to save a few minutes driving time? Thirty minutes is not far to drive.

I said I was tempted to go, but I never actually would. For a budget-conscious college student not living at home a thirty minute drive is a long way to go each week. I already have to go to college three times a week and work full time. I just hope more people in my town are interested in starting up an EF in our own community.
 
Unfortunitly, Orlando is a liberal diocese. This is true liturgically and dogmatically. Sacred Heart is ran by an “independant” priest. The problem is this priest is aligned with Old Catholics and other religious who have orders from various schismatic lines. I’d stay away personally, St. Thomas More (SSPX) in Sanford (www.stthomasmoresspx.com) or Queen of Peace in Ocala (FSSP) are really the only two acceptable Mass sites for the TLM in the Orlando diocese, All Souls Mass was created as “a divide and conquer” Mass against the SSPX & for that reason I do not support it. St. Thomas More has a Sung Mass each Sunday and will have a Sung Mass and Compline for the Feast of The Immacualte Conception. The Mass will feature new vestments in honor of Our Lady of Czestochowa, who the local bishop has a strong devotion to and even took a liking to the vestments.

As for starting a new TLM, good luck. I know people who contacted St. James Cathedral and St. Paul’s basillica and the answer was the same: “Go to All Souls.” So much for the Holy Father’s wishes.

Really? That’s a shame. I am registered at St. James and was actually going to approach them about it. Seems like it’s one of the few churches in Orlando that can be appropriately adapted to celebrate the EF. I mostly go to Blessed Trinity and their altar is round and the building very modern, like most parishes here, so an EF mass would just not look right. Maybe I will take the trip to Sanford and visit St. Thomas More (is it licit to go to an SSPX mass??). I went to All Souls’ and it was nice it’s just that Sanford is so far! I live near downtown so I was hoping that maybe after the restorations St. James would start celebrating the EF if enough people asked for it. We shall see, I pray to God that devotion to the EF spreads around our diocese, we really need it!
 
It is more than licit to go to an SSPX Mass. You have SSPX Masses now take place from time to time in St. Peter’s in Rome and even Bishop Tisser de Mallerais offered a Mass on the Feast of Christ the King at the basillica of Lourdes in front of 7,000 faithful; dici.org/?p=13030. Not the nicest of chapels, but the beauty of Christ’s unbloody sacrifice in the liturgy triumps the modern style anywhere. Anyway, the St. Thomas More site has plenty of pics and some videos up if you are interested. Likewise, there are First Friday and Saturday Masses and devotions this week.

I also live near downtown, in College Park.
