Hope it’s okay to post this here, since he hosted the “Life On The Rock” television show. . .

I was just wondering if he was still discerning his vocation to staying a priest or joining the widow’s family (I believe she’s now deceased, correct?). I’m not sure why, but he’s just been on my mind lately, and I ask only out of concern and not to start gossip, or for any ulterior motive.

Anyone have any news?

I was just wondering the same thing, as I’m re-reading Mother Angelica’s biography (by Raymond Arroyo) and he’s quoted in it. I had been praying for him when this first happened, then unfortunately kinda forgot about him until yesterday when I came across him in the book 😊 .

In Christ,

Ellen

Yeah, I’m sure not much–if anything at all–is being said, but I was wondering if anything else had been made public. Like I mentioned, I was wondering purely out of concern (not for any gossip or scandal or anything like that) and he’s been on my mind as I pray for all our priests.

I suspect, regardless of what he decides, we will never hear of him again on EWTN. I too keep him in prayer.

I just heard about this, its very sad and surprising as Father sounded as solidly grounded in the faith and in his vocation as any (reminded me in some ways of Father Corapi). I hope that his faith will still guide him even if he is struggling with sin. If anything, this reminds me that if Father Francis Mary could fall in this way - any one of us can. We must remain vigilent!

Of course heartfelt and sincere prayers for Father Francis Mary!

I don’t know what has happened to Fr. Francis Mary. My mother loved him! Praying for him.

I had missed Father Stone also. I had just assumed he went off “rotation” kinda like the Indonesian priest that preaches very plainly has been working in Hanceville at the Shrine.

I miss Fr. Angelus, he was more “Fire and Brimstone”, I think he retired. He is in his mid 80s I think.

As for Mother, she was alive as of last week. Last I heard she could not speak, but was getting along ok considering all she had been through. When she passes we will all know, they will probably put her in a glass case in Hancefille.

Hi, I too loved Father Angelus, but I believe he was on “Rotation” and has gone back to the Pittsburgh area. I also love “fire an brimstone” and think a good dose every so often is great

If some of the Catholic blogs I’ve read have “true” information, he isn’t coming back to EWTN and things are very complicated in his life. One poster said his name is David Stone (don’t know if that’s true of course) and that is what he is going by now. Another poster said EWTN told her that he moved out of the state, which makes sense if his family is not there.
I hope whatever happens, it is for the best. When other people are involved, it’s very complicated, his obligation was to God, but he can’t pretend he doesn’t have any on earth either.

I saw a new face on LOTR and it seemed like a good show. Fr. Mark was given a break and this genteman had a lot of energy and was engaging.( Will google his name, I know I’ve seen him before.)

And speaking of Raymond Arroryo, ANOTHER Mother Angelica book coming out this Fall…just google it on Amazon.

I really miss Father, I wish him the best and will pray for him.
The whole situation makes me very sad.

still praying for Father and all priests around the world.

I really miss him. 😦

Galandriel:

That’s an awesome quote from Bishop Sheen! He is SO right. Thanks for posting that!🙂

I think someone read the widow’s husband died and somehow things got convoluted. No one is going to broadcast news about where he is if he stays or goes. It doesn’t look good to say he is leaving to get married or if he is going to another area/country, they wouldn’t want gossip/people following him there to bother him. (you might think, Who?, but you’d be surprised.
I asked a priest about options and it didn’t seem very good…he was well known which has it’s drawbacks and even if he wasn’t, the questions of where he came from would eventually surface. It’s not that it can’t be worked out, just not as easy being so visible.

I liked him a lot and wish him well. I was reading a couple of priests blogs and it sounds like he will never be back on EWTN

I also think when you make a promise to God it is not something that you can throw to the winds…He chose a woman over his vows to God…not a good thing in my mind…but I hope if she did die, perhaps he can find some way to serve God once more, perhaps as a brother

I would hope a woman with 3 or 4 children and some say a new baby is well…whatever he does, you can’t undo some things. But everyone acts like he wants to stay, maybe he does, maybe he was unhappy for a long time and it was narcissm that led him to be a priest…there are hundreds of reasons which is why gossip is hurtful, you start to wonder and before you know it, certain ideas become real.
