Any writers willing to read my first chapter sample?

I’m hoping to get a few readers with some writing experience and can discuss what they thought here or PM. It’s a fiction work, sci-fi/fantasy/kids. Second attempt at writing fiction. I wrote the book last year, and now I’m just mainly focusing on editing once chapter at a time. It’s 14 pages. Let me know! Thanks.
 
Understand, I’m not 100% committing, but I am an amateur writer published in one short story anthology as well as in a relatively minor papers, so if you’re interested in letting me take a peek at your aforesaid chapter, I’d likely be willing to set aside fifteen minutes or so for it. Thanks.

I’m not a writer but I am a reader. I could give one chapter a try and you can decide from there.
 
Note that I’m an amateur poet (just for fun) and will work occasionally on other genres. While I’m also an avid book reader I’ll read some of it.
 
I’ll read it! I’m totally amateur at this point, but I do write and read a lot and am probably pretty close to your target audience (I love sf/fantasy and I was a child not too long ago :p).
 
yea, invitation to send your writing/tell me (1) who is your target audience; (2)a few points in question form of which you, as a writer, might be curious, such as “does the first paragraph work to reach a target audience?” sincerely patrick
 
Another good resource for criticism is www.createspace.com.
There are forums there as there are here, under Community.
There’s a good thread called “Post your preview here and I will review it.”

I’d offer also but looks like you already have quite a few people willing.
