I thought one was “horizontal” while the other one was “vertical?”

Any YECs have anything to say about the CAF tract link I posted? It tells us what Catholics are allowed to believe and it’s not what you said.

Jesus believed the Creation account when He said

" From the beginning, God made them male and female, for this reason a man shall leave father and mother and cleave to his wife "

Also when describing conditions at the end of the world He says " As in the days of Noah " .

He also believed in the great worldwide flood .
None of which says “the world was created in 6 24-hour days, only 4000 years ago. Fossils? Just kidding!”

The Bible talks about God creating everything in 6 days in other places too, like Exodus 20:11

They believe that God, or maybe the devil, put fossils down to fool us. Or something.

Can you elaborate on what you mean by this?

Spyridon gave a good explanation…
microevolution

Microevolution over a long enough time period leads to macroevolution.

Take the word “evolution.” Once a year, replace one letter with the next letter in the alphabet - if you start in 2018, in 2019 the word, via microevolution, has become “fvolution.” But by the year 2030, the word has undergone macroevolution and mutated into “fwpmvujpo.” It’s become a totally new thing.

Switch out the word evolution with all the biological organisms on our planet, and switch out the 12 years for 4.54 billion years - voila, biological macroevolution.

in 6 days in other places too, like Exodus 20:11
The Bible also talks about the Earth being ancient in many places, especially the Psalms.

If the Psalms were written by the Holy Spirit, and a thousand years are like one day in his sight, and the Psalter was written between 1,000 - 500 B.C. and the Earth created around 4,000 B.C, then the Psalms talking about a mere 3,000 years, or three days in God’s Eyes, as being incredibly ancient makes no sense whatsoever.

Only if you’d be willing to give yours.
Well, since scientists and astronauts have observed the round earth as round, of course it’s round.

Also, you never commented on my CAF tract I posted that tells us what Catholics are allowed to believe regarding evolution.

I don’t believe that. Geology is based on uniformity, meaning one layer of rock was laid on top of another layer over time. Then we have the catastrophic position, meaning the earth went through continental drift, so at one time, Africa and South America were once connected but fractured and drifted apart. How? The ground deep beneath us shifts, sliding along liquid rock, so what was once here moved to there. The surface was not immune to drastic changes and rock layers have been found that are not stacked in the “right” order but the exact opposite.

There are fossil trees that penetrate several rock layers representing thousands of years. They may be found vertically or at a slight angle. How did they get there? If they were exposed above ground they would have rotted away and not been preserved for thousands of years. They are called ‘polystrate fossils.’

And what is the current year on the Hebrew calendar? It is the year 5778. Find out how that was determined.

Lastly, the dating methods used are subject to certain assumptions. When did oxygen become available in earth’s atmosphere? Most of the air we breathe is made up of nitrogen. We don’t know what the early atmosphere was like. And the dating methods used involving radioactive decay. How does anyone know how long these radioactive elements took to form in the early earth? Or how much of these radioactive elements were even present. These radioactive elements decay over time. Does anyone have the answers to the time they’ve been around in the first place?
