Close your eyes…take a deep breath…and let the feeling pass.… I get a strong urge to have another baby, but I’m in my mid-forties and don’t know if I could survive it.

Hi Lilith. No, you are not strange. I feel the same way. My beautiful daughter just started HS last week. My “baby” is in 7th grade. It’s just a different time in your life. I would suggest something that has made me more “in tune” with my parental responsibilities. I attend a couple of daily Masses during the week. It helps me focus on my life now that it is not totally focused on my childrens comings and goings. Also, stay involved with their lives. I can’t stress that strong enough.School just started back…and I cried off and on all day
My Eleven year old just started middle school…and it has me so blue she doesn’t get off the bus until 4:00 in the afternoon! …where has the time gone??..how in the world have my babies turned 15…11… and 4…
Next year my “baby” will start Kindergarten…I pray it doesn’t kill me.
I miss my Kids…summer is too short, and I remember my mother being sooo happy when school started back…
Am I strange…or do other people feel sad at the fact that children grow up so darned fast?!
While you’re together and waiting for your children to arrive home, please don’t spend all your time crying about how fast your babies are growing up. I wish I could have been as privileged as you - to be free to watch the clock crawl by while I’m waiting for the door to open.Oh Lillith!!! I was crying just yesterday about my kids going back!! My daughter is starting Middle School too—I’m so anxious about it!!! My youngest is starting kindergarten (at least it’s only half day program). In fact, I was wondering about starting a thread just like yours—LOL!!! My babies are 11, 9, and 5, and it just seems like yesterday that they were crawling around and starting to walk, etc. Everyone was right when they said “enjoy the kids while they’re young—it goes toooooo fast”. I enjoy my kids’ breaks from school, and miss them when they’re gone. Let’s start a support group:thumbsup:

Perhaps you could take a moment to pray for the families whose mommies who have to work to support them, where it’s the children who wait in the afternoon for mommy to get home.
Thank you.
connectionsacademy.com/portal/google.aspAlly…that is awesome!! I am not confident in my ability to teach my 15 year old
As a Freshman she was already in Algebra II…this year she is in Calculas
I have never taken that…even in College…I can’t imagine teaching her…she teaches me at this point
Sounds good to me too and mine are 8, 5 & 2… my husband is supposed to get home tonight from his latest week long USAF mission… 3AM!Okay - Okay - Okay you guys!
I will stop wishing my little ones to get out from under my feet!
I will stop wishing for my house to be just a little quiter!
I will stop wishing for a moment of free time!
So, some of you may wish to be in my shoes…but an afternoon with no children and a nap sounds wonderful now!
Stay strong Moms!
hehe, not to hijack the thread or anything, but think of how the kids feel!!! I start school on Monday, and I’ve been crying about it for days!!!School just started back…and I cried off and on all day

Ever thought about helping at their school, Kelly? They always need volunteers, and grandmas just have more time than moms and dads…Or find ways to make time work more.Well, here’s a little different spin on the whole mattter.
I feel the same way as you all do, but it’s my granddaughters that I miss! We are VERY close and spend time every day (literally) together. Last year when the school year started the oldest was startging first grad and her sister was starting kindergarten. I actually felt like they had been ‘taken’ from me.
I pray a lot about it and try to keep busy with their siblings and my daughter. But I do miss them when I go to their house and they aren’t there.
Here’s to them all growing up in Gods grace!
Kelly~
Yes, actually I do volunteer at their school. It’s great. I get to know their friends and see them interact etc. I have lunch with them and stay for recess and then help in the classroom. Or I stay with their littler siblings so that their mama can do the same. Their mama has her hands full and loves to devote special time with them at school. She has Morgan 7 1/2, Alayna 6 1/2, Anneka 3 3/4, Sebastian 2, and Noelle 16 months. You all may have heard from her on this forum before, she’s one of the ones that hears questions about “Are all these kids yours?”Ever thought about helping at their school, Kelly?
