Hi to everybody,

I’m back to these forums after a long time of not visiting. One resolution I have made for the New Year is to make a schedule with respect to keeping up my house and to stick to it. Anybody else trying this? It might be nice to exchange emails about the process. I’d be happy, as well, to share the details of the scedule I worked out, in case anyone else might find it useful.

I think I make that resolution every year. I have never once made it past the first week. 😦 😃

Hi wc,

I hear what you’re saying; this is not exactly my first go-around with this attempt myself! Still, I notice that every time I try to “get on the wagon”, I get just a little better at these things. So I keep plugging.

I think one trick to making it work is not to let the schedule make too much more work for you than what you’re already doing. Just to organize things so I’m not caught “flat footed”, and not left wondering what best to do with my time.

God Bless,
Joan

Our problem is that we have mountains of ‘stuff’ everywhere. And every room is in the same condition. Sometimes, I walk into a room determined to do something. and I get overwhelmed just trying to figure out where to start. Then after a few minutes, I just give up. It’s depressing and demoralizing just looking at how much has to get sorted/tossed etc. It’s much simpler not thinking about it or ignoring it.

Only on 2 or 3 occasions (years ago), I was able to make some head way, and that was only because we absolutely had to clear stuff away. We were ablout to remodel parts of our house, and we needed to clear stuff away so the remodelers could do their job. Good luck.

Hi wc,

I’m sorry to hear you have that problem. 😦 I think lots of people have the same situation nowadays. Is it mostly stuff you really need and use? Many of the extra things that cause clutter in my house belong to others, especially my husband. Makes things tougher to deal with; there’s the negotiations as well as actually sorting and coping with stuff.
