**I recently (after the birth of my DD) developed an allergy to pumpkin:(… took awhile to figure out just what I ate that made my mouth tingle and my throat swell (scary!) but finally figured out it was the pumpkin seeds in a trail mix I ate:shrug:

So then a few weeks ago (Canadian thanksgiving) my mom passed over some pumpkin pie…yum…and I ate a piece after supper. No reaction. Great, so it’s only the seeds…or so I thought. The next day I had a second piece of pumpkin pie and got a reaction. So now I know for sure it’s anything to do with pumpkin… no more pumpkin seeds, no more pumpkin pie, no pumpkin ice cream or cheesecake…wah wah wah! :bighanky:

Why couldn’t it be my sister instead? She hates pumpkin pie, and calls it “garbage pie” because to her it smells like garbage, lol…**😉

Well you could always take a double dose of benadryl prior to your double helping of pumpkin pie! Or perhaps try sweet potato pie, as they should taste somewhat similar.:newidea:

I’m not allergic to pumpkin but I do claim a seafood allergy simply due to my dislike for all swimmy/crawly things.

(Obviously NOT medical advice, just a joke.)

you’re allergic to me??? :bighanky: I guess I should stay away from you now… :sad_bye:

j/k 😛 I’ve never heard of anyone being allergic to pumpkin, but anything is possible… I love pumpkin pie, too. Poor Malia! :console: Maybe try the sweet potato pie, like Chovy suggested? And what about other types of squashes, like butter-nut or acorn? Are you allergic to them, too?

I have a similar reaction to walnuts, pecans, pistachios, and brazil nuts (almonds too, but much less severe- I still eat them). I’ve had this reaction for as long as I can remember, so those nuts don’t taste good at all to me, even though everyone around me loves them. I wonder if your sister also has an allergy and that’s why she hates pumpkin. 🤷

Dude, what if THAT’s what affected your skin? Like anythign in the squash family? Or do you think it’s only pumpkin?

Hmm wonder what’ll happen if you carve a pumpkin for halloween?

Sorry the pumpkins are being so cold to you now:D 😃

Just kidding of course. I love pumpkin too and can’t imagine being allergic to them. I would be a sad pumpkin;)

Oh Malia, I am sorry! :console: That just stinks!

Yes KC! That’s a great idea! Malia should definitely carve a pumpkin or two to take out her aggression on the little buggers! 😃 I bet it will at least make her feel emotionally better about it!

Edit: Paul, that sad pumpkin is hilarious :rotfl:

haha I love that pumpkin, Paul. I bet it’s a Canadian pumpkin (it perfectly emulates how I feel about our current snowy conditions)! hee hee…

No snow here! It’s supposed to be a balmy 13C today! Nice trick-or-treating weather tonight!

👍
