Q. Are you implying that those who have relatively problem free lives are already in Satan’s back pocket ???

No one lives a totally problem free life, but I know some folks who seem to be the luckiest folks alive and they seem to be morally upright and devout Catholics.

Personally, I have been blessed many times over for which I’m very grateful. I don’t feel satanicly oppressed or under any particular attack… am I in deep trouble ??? :bigyikes:
Those who are lukewarm are in satan’s back pocket. Many times the masses of people who seem to be leading relatively trouble free lives are lukewarm.

Being upright and devout may not bring “negative” spiritual warfare for any number of reasons. I don’t know what they are. I could be God is blessing them, or it could be God is setting them up for something. Maybe it’s a way to build their pride. It’s really hard to say in a generic way.

To my knowledge and experience level, I can’t opine on whether you’re in any kind of trouble based on that much information. If you don’t have a Spiritual Director you meet with on a formal basis, you might want to check it out, though, to see if your diocese offers direction. Best thing that ever happened to me!

I’ve never shared this anywhere with anyone for fear that they would think I was crazy. But I have felt the presence of demons on a number occasions. Always in my sleep, sometimes it’s difficult to breathe as if a hand is over my mouth. I’ve even seen horrid faces, but only in my mind as if in a dream but I KNOW it was not a dream.

I say the name Jesus repeatedly and I feel them flee as if they’ve been burned with a fire.

Very scary stuff. I often ask Mary to pray before I go to sleep.

I’d love to know if anyone else has ever experienced anything like this.
I know what you’re talking about. Many times when wide awake, I have felt something settling on the bed, or a small animal (like a cat) walking over the blankets.

I have noticed that when I immediatly recite the Apostles Creed, the feeling of that something disappears.

It also helps before saying your night prayers, to bless yourself, the room, the bed with holy water.

I love to pray the Liturgy of the Hours nightprayers, and always finish them with the following prayer, whether it’s the required prayer of the day or not:

Lord,
we beg you to visit this house
and banish from it
all the deadly power of the enemy
May your holy angels dwell here
to keep us in peace,
and may your blessing be upon us always
We ask this through Christ our Lord.

For good measure I explicitly ask God to keep away from me any frightful images before falling asleep. If that still happens, here comes the Apostles Creed, and gone are the scary images and I am off into dreamland.

Whatever you anticipate that might trouble you during the night, ask God to prevent it from happening. He listens. I do it all the time, and I have never been disappointed.

The key is to ask God. - God is so good - He will come to your aid.

May God bless everyone.
