I know this is a really stupid thing, but what would prove God to me is me dating a decent guy. That would be a miracle right there!

It isn’t bad. I’m from Oregon, where Matt Groening is from, and one of my high school friends father knew him. And he used to bully Matt, so he become the inspiration for Nelson. Or that is what she said. It would be cool if that was true.

That’s not silly. That’s not silly at all! In fact, we ALL desire someone to share the faith with (I’m assuming you mean “Catholic” when you say “decent” :D)–they keep us on the right path, or grounded. I’m surely praying you find such a man, and maybe God is preparing him in His good time. It’s waiting and trust that is the hardest part. :yup:

No, you’re a lot more honest and braver than most. That’s all.
 
I think it’s one thing to genuinely cease believing in something, and another to make a choice to stop following the requirements that flow from a belief simply because they’re difficult. In other words, if you believe that Church teachings are true, you can’t leave the Church - it’s still a part of you.

In my case, I was a “nominal” Catholic until I began to critically examine the required beliefs (ironically, in an attempt to strengthen my faith), and realized that I simply could not accept many of them as true. So I left the Church - I could not honestly call myself a Catholic if I didn’t believe many of the basic tenets of the faith.

Country singer, I think I remember you once posted that you live in Federal Way.

If you do you could go to St. Stephen the Martyr for confession. They have a screen in the confessional. It is not far. Just east of Benson Rd. off of 192nd. You could mapquest it. Also Father White is such a good and holy priest. You would need to call the office to call find out if he will be doing confessions this Saturday. He has another older priest that will be there if he is not.
There is also Holy Spirit in Kent which I am pretty sure has a screen too. You could call and ask first and get directions. It is only a few minutes away from Federal way. Priests are usually so glad to help and not scary at all.

Just because a Priest is handsome does not mean he is likely to break his vow of chastity. Pius XII and Benedict XVI are considered by many to be handsome but virtually no Catholic would find that uncomfortable!
