Is anyone familiar with the Poor Clares in Wappinger Falls? They were previously in New Rochelle and the bronx before that.
I visited and love community. They appear "moderately traditional’. There are a couple of things I have some concerns about.
Has anyone visited them or know much about them. I want to be sure that any community I enter is always faithful to the Church.:o

I don’t know anything about that community, but ever since I read A Right to Be Merry I have been in love with the Colettine branch of Poor Clares. This was the monastery in Roswell, NM, talked about in that book:

Definitely faithful to the Church. I actually visited their sister community in Cleveland, OH, back in the early 90s.

I know I’m of no help at all with your question, but I just love these two communities 😊

I have not visited this group of Poor Clares but know of them slightly by virtue of my vocations search. I am not sure if the information I will be sharing will be much help seeing as how I have not met them personally?? However perhaps some of the links I provide or thoughts will be a little help???
The group is in communion with the church of Rome and faithful to the teachings of the church. (That kind of goes with the definition of being a Poor Clare Religious of Course)
Since you have visited them you most likely have already seen their community life, how they spend their day and pray the hours, and their mass schedule.

As you also probably already know each Poor Clare foundation is autonomous … which of course means that how they live the rule of St Clare may vary… perhaps if you discussed your concerns about this particular community? with your spiritual director??? Then you could come to an understanding of whether or not you would fit in with that particular community.

As you probably already know you would be living the rest of your life with them
so you would want to be sure that you choose the specific monastery wisely.
In case this is any help the Poor Clare sisters of Spokane have their own website
[calledbyjoy.com/]](http://calledbyjoy.com/]) which also gives links to many many different Poor Clare foundations both in and outside the United States (poorclare.org/)

Both websites are quite informative.( By the way the sisters in Spokane have published a few books on topics on the priesthood and the rosary and the Eucharist to name a few and have an awesome Catholic e card website)… The first website ref the Spokane monastery… the second one the Poor Clares in the united states and in the world and gives a nice overview.

May God, St Clare and St Francis guide you on your journey!*
