I met a severely disabled lady in a wheelchair which needs lot’s of attention to. She’s homeless living outdoors in the cold and in a wheelchair and can barely move a bone on her body. She cried out for a bath since she has probably sat on her urine for some time. I don’t know how to move about and around the system to get her some help. She needs someone to pick her up off the streets, take her to a convalescent or hospital, and preferably a place to stay. Please contact me by p.message so I can see she gets help. Thanks.

Let St. Vincent DePaul from your parish know. They will have contacts in her area and will see to it that she gets assistance. God bless.

Pretty much every hospital in the US has social workers that can help navigate the potential resources. If you can get her there, that’d be a huge start. It doesn’t sound like she has any reason to visit the ED, but at the same time, her complaints are a lot worse than many they get and treat every single day.

she has stated to me that the hospital was the one that threw her out. I interpreted that as they could no longer pay for her stay.

There is more to the story. You can’t just stay in the hospital if you aren’t acutely ill, so I doubt it was a checkbook checkup. At the same time, they can’t discharge without a plan either and someone would’ve spoken with her.
