Do you like it? I bought one for easy transport/reading. Is is good?

What translation is it? I have never heard of it, and I own lots of Bibles.

Hmmm, just checked out Amazon. It’s NRSV and can be had in CE. Not fond of NRSV but…I do like compact Bibles…

The dimensions are 8.7x4x0.8 inches. The editorial description is a hoot.

I’ll pass. I do not like the inclusive language in the NRSV (or the NAB). If a Go Anywhere RSV is published, I would consider purchasing one.

Yes, I know. But, I have to admit…If you’re just doing a little mobile devotional reading and not critical exegesis, it may not be a bad tradeoff. It’s thin and slender compared to any of the compact Bibles I’ve seen. Maybe we should write the publisher and ask…

I’m with you.

And the publisher’s write-up is a real hoot!

Yeah, it is a publisher’s description. I’ve looked at 4-5 different websites now to see how cheap it is. $14 at one place and same publisher’s nonsense. Still, like I said, it may be a decent little pocket edition. Right now I have an Ignatius NT for on the go. It’s handy but still kinda bulky.

I just got it for some devotional reading and college Bible study, so I don’t think the translation will throw me off too much.

I have a small bible,New Testament,which i can easily carry about
However,i have not been able to get a smaller book with just the Old Testament.Anyone know better?

I’ve seen these in some bookstores around town. If it’s what I’m thinking of, having seen them personally, they’re not as thin as “Go Anywhere” might suggest. About the only place I could think to go with one would be…Bible study.

Joking aside…

NRSV does publish a very thin NT, which I own. It’s not CE. The whole Bible is still rather long and thick, even for a compact edition. In fact, it’s one of the largest compact editions I’ve ever seen. Of course, I could’ve seen something entirely different…

The book in question is complete Bible Catholic Edition…

What’s “inclusive language”?
Our priests, when saying the Nicene Creed at Mass on Sundays, leave out the word “men” in the line,
“for us men and for our salvation”
In case the girls feel rejected.Thank goodness we don’t get a lot of it around here.

Definitley disappointed in the Bible. Sending it back…I saw an RSV compact edition with a zipper-close side. Does anyone have that one and if so, do you like it?

An RSV-CE Compact with zipper?

I didn’t know they came with zippers. I have an RSV-CE Compact made by Oxford-Scepter, but the leather material used by Ignatius on their compacts is so smooth and easy on the touch! 😃

I’m pleased with my RSV-CE compact.

Here’s two compact editions of the RSV-CE published by Ignatius:

compact and zippered

There may be other color options available from different distributors. The folks at Online Catholic Store are nice people with lots of Catholic books and other items and I’ve had nothing but good experiences buying from them.

Yes, and yes. Though the print is tiny, it is easy to read. It’s definitely worth the $28 I paid for it. And the zipper-pull is the Miraculous Medal!
