Your family is beset with problems. That is to say, it is a normal family. Since you are a believer in God you have most certainly prayed to God about many of these problems. And maybe you have had the joy of answered prayer for some, some respite for others, but there are still those problems that don’t seem to go anywhere! Your image of God is seriously shaken because you don’t understand why He doesn’t seem to hear you on these particular issues. Your voice feels like a cry in the desert.

This serious issue is addressed in a truly fresh and inspired book, “The Healing of Families”, by renowned author Father Yozefu-B. Ssemakula, who hails from Uganda, and is now ministering in the U.S. based in the Pensacola-Tallahassee diocese. His in-depth book is filled with powerful prayers to cleanse and heal the family.
Fr. Ssemakula presents a simple, effective, and powerful prayer method for freeing you and your family from problems you have prayed about for a long time without results, including health issues. Through Father’s inspired book and seminar you will learn to distinguish between the true Cross of Christ that we have to carry for our salvation, Mt 16:24 (necessary suffering), and the false Cross, which is a simple captivity and oppression of God’s children, LK 4:18 (unnecessary suffering). God never wills evil and pain for us at any point in our lives. Evil and pain are interruptions of God’s plan for our lives Jer 29:11, even if good can be extracted from them. 1 John 4:8 tells us: “God is love.” John 10:10 states: “I came that they might have life and have in abundantly.” God’s will is always good. When things turn out bad for us, it can never be the will of God.

In Baptism, God pre-equipped us with all the tools we need to effectively deal with the majority of our problems. In reading Father’s book or attending a Healing of Families seminar you will understand how to use the tools of your Baptism to end recurrent problems in your lives.
Hi MJE,
I did not mean to ignore you. I am just so upset and in my own little world I could not think of reaching out to another priest and his vision for my family. I need to pray for guidance and a lightening of my heart. But when I am less hardened I will look into this book. Thank you! :)And I will write a letter to Father Bramlage. 🙂

Melissa, it’s been awhile since your post, but I’m just now seeing it. I’m offering my apologies on behalf of those folks who asked you to leave Fr. Greg’s service. When Fr. travels to different areas of the country, he relies on the local parishes to get volunteers. How unfortunate that you encountered one who probably thought he/she was doing what they thought was right, but how wrong they were. Fr. Greg would be horrified if he knew how you and your dear daughter had been treated. He welcomes those with disabilities at his services! I live near his former parish in Indiana, and I’m a witness to the incredible miracles that were taking place there when he and his team of charismatic prayer warriors prayed with people during his monthly prayer services. I attended about 25 of his services in Indiana and Ohio. His Eucharistic Processions were the next best thing to heaven. There is absolutely no way he is involved in the New Age stuff as others have indicated, in fact, he was preaching against it constantly. He has personal knowledge and experience with the demonic (I understand there were numerous Satanic covens in his area), so yes, he is particularly sensitive to the demonic. From personal experience and that of converts from the New Age, he knows the dangers that can sometimes come with the practice of yoga and reiki. He often brought in speakers such as Johnnette Benkovic who is on EWTN speaking against New Age beleifs. Unfortunately Satan is active in attacking our priests, and we should pray for Fr. B. and all our priests. I haven’t seen Fr. in a couple yrs., but I pray he stays on the right path in bringing folks to Jesus, and bringing Jesus’ healing power to them.

Dear Melissa–I am so sorry for the experience you suffered that night at the parish mission. I was there and did not see any disturbance of your daughter. The whole point of what Father was doing should have been for your daughter (and the one who said it was time for you to leave.) The Pastor is so welcoming of special needs children. He has worked a lot with getting other parishioners to accept that there may be disturbances and to pray charitably for the families going through those trials. I hope the problem has been resolved in your heart. What happened has happened. Please do not think that everyone felt like that though. The reason Father Gregory was there was to be a vessel for the healing of your daughter and others. I know of long-time parishioners that received healing during that mission. I am one of those. A man, who serves on the altar everyday (sometimes twice a day) had a lump on his foot the size of a hard-boiled egg. He had it for years and it gave him much pain–it disappeared during that mission. One of our deacons who could not raise his arms without great pain was able to reach over his head with his arms–something he had not done in a very long time. Another daily Mass goer (and Tridentine Mass goer) was able to forgive the person who murdered her son after 25 years. She saw her son in a glorious radiant light at the mission after forgiving. I was able to forgive a transgression that was about 20 years old, which was choking the life out of my family. I could not bend over and touch the floor for years. I was able to kneel and kiss the floor adoring Jesus in the Most Blessed Sacrament after that mission. I thought I was right to hold that long-time grudge, but I was not. I went to confession during the big Advent Confession Day. Jesus asked if I forgave the offense. I said, “I did.” Then Jesus showed me how I had done the same thing to Him for years.

In the past, I have not agreed with all the things the Pastor has done and I told him that one day. I went home thinking I was right. Upon returning home, I was shown I was wrong. I was told in these specific words, “Shut up and pray for him (the pastor). He is led by the Holy Spirit.” I had to go back and tell him what happened. As Father Luigi used to say, “Let the peace of the Holy Spirit be your guide.” Not everyone was supposed to go to that mission. If you are not at peace, do not go. Most of the people came from other parishes or they were not Catholic nor even churchgoers. Many people were concerned about going to the “Healing of Families” mission after that. I also went to that and experienced many great healings in my family because of it. God chose to work through both Father Gregory and Father Yosefu. If God chose to heal daily communicants through these priests in what is considered unusual prayer, so be it. Jesus went to Jerusalem how many times and did not heal the man by the Beautiful Gate that was there everyday? But Peter and John became the vessels to heal the lame man after Jesus ascended to the Father.
Acts 3:2. And a man crippled from birth was carried and placed at the gate of the temple called “the Beautiful Gate” every day to beg for alms from the people who entered the temple.
3:6. Peter said, “I have neither silver nor gold, but what I do have I give you: in the name of Jesus Christ the Nazorean, [rise and] walk.”
3:7. Then Peter took him by the right hand and raised him up, and immediately his feet and ankles grew strong.
3:8. He leaped up, stood, and walked around, and went into the temple with them, walking and jumping and praising God.
Pray for all our priests. The Pastor chose right–he is led by the Holy Spirit, pray for him. He has thousands of children (some over 90 years old) for whose souls he is responsible to God. He takes that very seriously and does not want to lose a single one. I have not done as well with the few souls entrusted to me as a parent as he has done with the thousands entrusted to him as a parish priest. Pray that we are all led by the Holy Spirit in our God-given vocations.

Hello,

I realize this post was from 2 years ago, but I wanted to add my thoughts. I just attended his retreat with our parish mission, and I have to say that I didn’t find anything unorthodox or misleading in his presentation. This man is in LOVE with Jesus! ALL glory goes to God in his presentation.

I have found that when people only have one side, or take things out of context, much can be misunderstood. With regards to healing the sins of the past generations, I am certain that my parent’s sins, and the sins of their parents affect me, and I am in turn passing it on. BUT I have chosen to break the cycle, to break the sin of anger. There are definitely sins that can be healed generationally.

At present the Generational Healing “Mass” prayers of reparation that is listed under the link of generational healing is obviously a photocopy of a pamphlet. It is likely that Fr. Greg didn’t make this pamphlet. Also, any forgiveness prayer that we took part in did not include the words that are included in the aforementioned pamphlet. I think criticism of Charismatic Catholicism should be taken with a grain of salt. There is nothing, absolutely nothing wrong with this ministry.

I am saddened to hear about the story of the woman above, and her daughter, but again, we only have her story. Praise God that other parishioners spoke up to assure her that there was nothing noticed. As for what really happened on Fr. Greg’s end, we need him or someone from his ministry to participate in the conversation. Otherwise it isn’t a fair assessment of the situation. We shouldn’t condemn if we don’t have all the facts.

I experienced tremendous healing at this parish mission. I think that some forms of prayer are not for all people, but it was for me! The Catholic Charismatics are recognized and allowed to worship and praise with in our faith. Perhaps people need to stay for Fr. Greg’s 3rd day of the mission when he gives his testimony.

Sincerely,

Amy

Father Greg Bramlage’s personal testimony was very powerful. He was so candid about not wanting to do what God had asked him to do. His humility led me to examine my own–it is not nearly as much as his. Would I have said that? No.
Many people were healed in various ways at our parish mission. Be at peace with your decision to go or not to go, but do not say bad things about it if you choose not to participate. It works for those whom God has chosen.

I told my truth. Father was behind asking us to leave. My daughter to this day is afraid to go to that church for fear she will be asked to leave. He is rsponsible for creating a divide between my daughter and the Holy Catholic Church. I am sorry if some of you think I would ever lie or exaggerate. I didn’t. I wouldn’t. If you didn’t hear us you were not at the healing mass we were at because I was crying ever so loud in the parking lot I cannot imagine it wasn’t heard. I pray that the woman who was so kind to me the day before – prayed with me about my daughter and I felt moved to touch her husband’s shoulder during a part of the prayers-- the day before when I was alone – would come forward and verify. Or the woman who is a big part of this man’s ministries, who asked if I would pray for her relationship with her older daughter to heal their relationship, the one who looked so sadly upon me when I was so upset in the foyer. Please speak the truth.
Father Greg Bramlage is directly responsible for my daughter being fearful to this day of that church. She is so afraid she will be asked to leave. The Father of the church assured me we were welcome but my daughter will not go there. She has a hard time going to ANY church now because of this incident. We now do Mass in our tri level bottom floor online or attempt to go to IHM. I love the Catholic religion. My heart is still broken by what FrGreg Bramlage did. I would not make this up. The idea that someone would tell falsehoods about how he would not do this makes me feel so sad. Because he did. It was a direct order from him. I’m sorry, but I speak the truth. God above knows.

Melissa, you and your daughter are in my thoughts and prayers. There was NO reason for you to have been told to leave a CHURCH service!
As for the resurrection of this thread, I strongly suspect that this Priest has a ‘fan club’ that has come out of the woodwork. He may have expanded his ministry, published a book…for some reason, people who, on making their first or second posts here, are making them to praise this priest and absolve him of all wrongdoing!

If I am wrong, I’m sorry. And I don’t presume to know how much the Father himself is behind this (the sudden praise, not unwise behavior toward Melissa’s family). I believe you, Melissa. Why would you bring up such a painful incident?

Please, other recent posters, don’t say anything about this priest that cannot be backed up. You do him no good that way. And lying about Melissa and her family?

Well, Melissa I hope and pray that you find a church that your daughter can be comfortable in. And that you can all attend, as a family.

Hi There-

This is the weirdest thing that this post popped up tonight…!!!

Let me explain.

I attended Fr. Greg’s healing retreat not too long ago. By the way he is permanently in the diocese of Colorado Springs right now. I am not into showing my emotions or raising hands but do have a broken family past. So when at mass one of their laypersons invited us to attend the retreat I decided it would be good. Since we were invited during mass I thought it was sanctioned. Also, our bishop presided over mass the last day. Fr. Greg reports directly to the bishop from my understanding. So, again, it was all right to attend because the bishop wouldn’t preside over the retreat’s Sunday mass if it weren’t. So I attended and had a great experience but afterwards I wondered if it was actually a great experience or just deceptive emotions. Also I have started to wonder if it was ok to attend or not…

I am now on their email list and received an email about a week ago from them saying the retreat to be held at my parish was cancelled. I didn’t know why and I didn’t know there was even going to be a retreat at our parish by Fr. Greg. I wouldn’t have attended anyway.

I rarely if ever take a bulletin at the end of mass but this past Sunday I did. I read it today while bored at work. The retreat was cancelled due to concerns. Our Parish Priest addressed these concerns in our bulletin which I hardly ever take. He stated it was cancelled due to concerns from others, priests and parishioners.

I emailed our Priest about an hour ago (before I read this post) stating I thought he made the right decision (not that my opinion counts) even though I believe Fr. Greg and his team are well meaning and good people. Then right I after I emailed him I told my wife about all this and THEN I saw this post.

I’m not sure if it’s a coincidence or not or if there is any significance one way or another but certainly an odd chain of events.

Dear Melissa,
I am so sorry for what happened the night of the parish mission in Sterling Heights. I believe you were there, but also please understand and believe I was there also and really did NOT notice any disturbance. I could not have heard you crying in the parking lot if I was in the church. The church in which this took place does not have the echoing and magnifying acoustics of churches with all hard surfaces and completely vaulted ceilings. If I was deep in prayer, I may not have noticed any disturbance while in conversation with God.

I do understand about your daughter’s fears, as my family also had churches where we felt very threatened for different reasons than yours, and felt we could not go back there. It is very good that you continue with Holy Mass online or when possible to go to IHM. As I pray for my children’s continued healing, I will pray for your family’s healing, also. It took years before I could or would walk into those churches because of past threats. What I found was that most everyone was not a threat–only one or a few people. For myself, I realized it was my pride that was much of the problem (this is what God showed me about my situation–nothing to do with yours.)

Yet, I was also shown that each situation was allowed by God. What I was to do with each situation would be my response to Romans 8:28 (my favorite verse): “We know that all things work for good for those who love God, who are called according to His purpose.” We are called to bring good out of all the situations into which we are placed. I use MADD to help me when I need to be inspired. Mothers Against Drunk Driving was started because of children being killed by drunk drivers. The pain of the death of their children united parents to change the accepted behavior of drunks. This was not easy. They met with much opposition. But look at where we are today because they would not give up. How many lives have been saved because of that pain? The pain I have–what am I to do with that? That determines my journey.

You’re already on the right road to discovering what God wants from you in your pain because you still worship Him online or at IHM–you didn’t turn your back and walk away. Keep close to God and our Blessed Mother and you will understand what good God wants from this situation.

I hope you sent a letter to Father Greg so that you can know his perspective. In this Year of Mercy, can what was done to your family be forgiven so that all of you can be healed? I have had to do this with a family member–even though the truth was not told. I found that when I forgave the situation (sometimes over 100 times a day–and that is no exaggeration), I could live in peace. Unless I forgive what was done, I am always playing that recording of what happened over and over again, continually dumping bad hormones into my body (being my own worst drug lord). I had to learn to press the “STOP” button on that recording so I could truly be blessed with the love, peace, and joy with which God wanted me and my family to enjoy. I cannot enjoy those gifts as long as I let that recording play–that’s from the devil to rob me of blessings God promises to bestow on each of us.

We have a deep sadness about what happened and truly desire for this pain to be healed in yours, your daughter’s, and your husband’s hearts and in all those who were involved.

The “Father of the church” (Father Ben), to whom you refer, is a most welcoming priests–especially to families with special needs children and he may be able to help you find great support from others with a journey similar to yours. There are also people there that have been given a special ministry to pray with others.

Concerning the Healing of Families prayer. I have received great healing interiorly from praying the long version of this prayer daily. By praying this, I am focused on getting rid of the problems instead of playing that “frustrating recording”.

Also, (addressing Legend–if comments about a fan club were directed towards my posts) I am not part of anyone’s fan club except God’s. I have been attending that church since 1999. I continue to be slowly healed EVERYDAY because of that mission. The other healings were enjoyed by parishioners I have known for years and they each received very special instantaneous healings. The glory for their healings belongs to God. Father Greg Bramlage was the vessel God used to bring them and myself healing. I am glad he responded to the call for the mission in which I attended.

Please continue to pray for all our priests!

Very interesting thread … I’ve been sick for 30 years … I do believe if the Lord wanted to heal me, He would just do so … I am thankful to our Lord for the pain I have had to endure … it is the only thing I have in life to give back to Him … I pray the pain I live with on a daily basis helps me on the day that I will be before our Lord, and having to deal with all my sins in life … I pray the pain and suffering I have gone through will somehow lighten the load of those sins … so I will happily continue to suffer, and give that suffering to our Lord for the souls in purgatory.

It was in Amelia Ohio at St Bernadette’s. I had written along response to you but it got lost. But to be clear that is where this happened. I appreciate the prayers! Blessings to all

Dear Melissa,
Please forgive me for my mistake. I thought it took place in the church I was in–no wonder I did not hear anything or see anything. I will continue to pray for you and your family, and that all of you may be healed from the wound this situation has left. A short prayer I have found helpful is Mary, Undoer of Knots. The best version is I found is:
theholyrosary.org/maryundoerknots
It even has a place to check off each prayer of the Rosary, which your daughter may enjoy doing. It is a couple of short prayers added to the Rosary.

May God bless you with the peace, love and joy He meant for you to enjoy today.

That’s ok. I just couldn’t figure out how one could not have heard us. I wish I had been quiet, for my girl’s sake but I was so shocked and angry I was quite loud.

It is hard to forgive this man as his actions are still causing issues with my girl. I think I am afraid that he is not walking with our Lord but seeking his own financial rewards. He made sure to add that as part of the sermon-- to give financially. I hope I am wrong. But I do know he did not want my daughter at that healing mass for some reason.

I will pray! Thank you for the prayers!

Oh – and why I came back to this thread is that I was talking with a new neighbor who happens to be Catholic and I explained why we go to a church so far away and not our local one. She mentioned that she thought she had heard of a healing charismatic mass coming up. I googled to see if he was coming back to Amelia. And happened upon this thread again and saw that I had not responded to some questions. I had let this anger go as for the last few years I have been battling breast cancer – now – after a long treatment of chemo, surgeries, radiation, then finally double mastectomy, I do believe I am cancer free- thank you Jesus.
I do not remember if I ever wrote to Father Greg. I feel like I did. But I know I wanted to wait and pray on it until I was not driven by such anger. I may have waited and then got diagnosed and - well-- that took priority. I let the anger go and felt the Holy Spirit throughout my cancer journey. I thank God for all the blessings He has bestowed upon me. I do not think I thought truly about Fath Greg until talking with my neighbor. --( no once I did bring it up again before that but briefly)But as I was talking I teared up and felt the pain again. And , as I said, my daughter is still is afraid. She holds onto hurts. I do not encourage her to – I tell her she is welcome at church and the Father made a mistake. But other than that I did not think too much about him for the last year. It takes me to a bad spot. And with the cancer I needed to be full up with love.

Thank you for believing in me. It does seem the one poster was confused as to where the healing mass was held. I, too, think the Father has a fan club. Which is wonderful if they speak the truth. And if the Father does indeed walk with our Lord. I do fear he doesn’t. Like you, if I am wrong I am so sorry.

Wow. Certainly odd. I only came back to the thread because I googled Father Greg to see if he was doing another healing mass as a neighbor had mentioned she thought she heard of one. And then found the responses directed at me.
While I was there that first day I fell hard for his message. Came home lit up with , what I thought, was the Holy Spirit. And I do think that something wonderful happened as I prayed with a family that was there and a follower of Father Greg. It was before any of the services began and they seemed very genuine and lovely. I credit their faithfulness and prayer for the good results of my daughter’s spinal X-rays. Results that showed, impossibly, that her spondi ( shifting of a crack in her back bone- due to slight scoliosis and a different gait) was smaller – not by much but indeed smaller. We went from probably having to have surgery to not. We still keep an eye on it and it has been stable. I thank God every night.

But after we were asked to leave I examined the service-- the testimonials, the jumping up and shouting " I was healed last year!!" And I felt foolish. Taken. But because of my anger I wasn’t sure if that influenced my change in attitude. After all these years I can say that I feel Father Greg is inauthentic and , possibly, a con artist and not lead by the Holy Spirit. Perhaps he had once been but he strayed from God’s path , I feel. I have not seen him since – which was why I wanted to see if he was coming back – to go and see again if I felt the same — so maybe he just strayed that day. Maybe. It would be wonderful if he would reach out to my daughter and apologize. But so far out now it might make things worse. He is human. He may have just failed that day I sometimes think BUT he heard my tears, his entourage heard my angst and confusion and he never reached out to me. I had given them my name and number prior to all this. So he could have. That makes me sad.

That is sort of how I feel now too. Our pastor has cancelled his trip to our parish and our pastor is not some hard line guy he is young and our music is progressive. I guess all we can do is pray for Father Greg, ourselves and all those involved. Thanks for sharing your experience with us.

One thing I didn’t mention…from almost the beginning of the Charismatic Movement, I attended several of their prayer meetings and Masses, on the advice/invitation of a friend. It seems just like how many described it…loving, promising of good things…
My friend and I were both in our teens, and not theology students. So, feelings meant a lot-and were mostly good.
I first questioned the movement when a man who was promised healing, and thought he was recovering, died rather suddenly. People kept saying things like ‘oh, he was healed inwardly’ and similar platitudes. I left for good when I just got bored. But thinking about it now, I would never go back, except out of curiosity.
Yes, healing is a big thing with them. But physical, verifiable healing remains rare, as far as I know. And I do think that a lot of the love was really love bombing. Promoting the idea that they would never be wrong because they are so nice. Like the nice women who stood by while Melissa’s family was asked to leave?
My gut feeling is to tell the people who got out to be glad. But, it has been a long time for me. So, please, prayerfully make your own decisions.
Sorry, I have no time to edit.
