Then clearly this is the thread for you! šŸ‘

Oh, right, a few important ones I don’t think anyone mentioned;

The Rezillos
X
Xray Spex
The Buzzcocks

I listen to a lot of punk. That’s mostly what i’m into. For those that are into dropkick murphys check out ā€˜ā€˜Flatfoot 56’’ They are a great christian punk band. Before these guys I didn’t think it was possible to mix punk rock and christian music. Good stuff either way.
I totally forgot about Flatfoot 56! They are the only Christian band I listen to because they can mix good lyrics with good music. I almost got to see them last year too, but I had to bail at the last minute because I didn’t have a ride.:mad:

Less and less as time goes by, but I did waste most of my teenage years on it, yes. šŸ™‚ I can still enjoy records by a lot of the bands, though: The Clash, Alternative TV, Pekinska Patka, Grazhdanskaya Oborona, BGK, Funeral Oration, Los Violadores, Leusemia, Dezerter, Olho Seco, Ultimo Resorte, The Neos, The Wards…could go on and on, really. Luckily I’m too busy to go to any shows (unless we’re counting Jonathan Richman? Give the man some credit for writing things like ā€œPablo Picassoā€ and ā€œI’m straightā€ around 1970, please), since the last one I went to was mostly heavy metal-styled bands, and that stuff bores me to tears.

I definitely recommend any of the bands I just mentioned, though. 😃 Most Latin American bands have at least latent Catholic tendencies, too, even if you’d be hard-pressed to find many positive towards religion…Escorbuto Cronico (from Tenerife, Canary Islands, off the coast of Africa) did a great ā€œpunkā€ version of ā€œAdeste Fidelesā€ (ā€œCome all ye faithfulā€) way back in 1982! šŸ‘

I was just revisiting my days in college, listening to some old punk records by the Ramones, the Jesus and Mary Chain, and the Pixies, in addition to songs by the Misfits and the Clash.

I find it sad that I sang along so freely with a number of the more profane songs, but even my conscience finds songs like the Misfits’ ā€œDie Die My Darlingā€ to be ***so ***utterly ridiculous and crude that it’s amusing…
Is it me or does Glen Danzig have an amazing voice? Even though the song ā€œLast Caressā€ is very disturbing, he sings it in a way that is very catchy.

Green Days ā€œ1,039/Smoothed Out Slappy Hoursā€ is a good one too. A lot of people don’t know about it. They think Green Day arrived when Dookie came out.
